The U.S. Fifth Fleet said two oil tankers were damaged in an incident in the Sea of Oman that one of the ships’ operators described as a suspected attack. Oil prices surged.

The incident will inflame already-rising political tensions in the region weeks after four vessels, including two Saudi oil tankers, were sabotaged in what the U.S. said was an Iranian attack using naval mines. Tehran denied the charge.

Brent oil crude jumped as much as 4.5% and was trading at $61.67 a barrel at 10:55 a.m. in Dubai.

Powerful explosions have been reported in the Emirati port of al-Fujairah, where seven oil tankers are said to have caught fire.

It said the seven oil tankers were completely burnt and that firefighters were still trying to extinguish the blaze.

Some social media activists said that American and French aircraft of unspecified type were flying over the port.

Al Mayadeen did not say what had caused the explosions or the fire.

Well I for one even though sitting on a substantial fall in paper profit is not in the slightest concerned and would actually like to see a prolonged period under £50 for WTI

why you may ask

because very few oil companies are in the unique position Genel are in, with a huge warchest, paying a dividend and pulling in over $100M in FCF even at $45 per barrel.

This presents several unique opportunities for Genel

1. to pick up distressed oil producers crushed in Debt.
2. The Shalers in the US are already struggling with apparently only 10% actually profitable as long period below $50 would send many to the wall.
3. we have already had a decade of under investment in the sector this will carry on for sometime until POO settles in a sensible range $60-$70 is about right.
4. Survival of the fittest - who would you rather be invested in ? debt free, cash rish or like PMO saddled with £2.5B in debt for only 35,000 per production ? No Brainer

The list goes on and on and if you do not need the sell hang tight because the future is very bright and the CEO is a smart guy who is tally focussed on production growth through drilling and acquisitions, and with the money Genel has they can pick up some bargains.

Also do not be surprised to see an aggressive buy back if we stay at this level to long, why wouldn't you if you as the CEO sees you are under valued by 100%, I would be buying at least 10% of the shares back under 180p.

We are in very interesting times and no isn't the time to sell Genel is actually an excellent buying opportunity and my Dividend will be buying more shares at the end of June is we are below 200p.

I cannot see how an asset with materially upgrade can be written down on the balance sheet.

So I reckon 33 to 35m cash receipt and Genel will hit 55k de risked across several field before GKP hits 55k. Why ? Because Taq will hit 20k, twake will 90 to 100, Pesh could be 70 to 90 and fingers crossed Bina 10+

Totals 10 + 25 + 20 + 10 total 65k year end for Genel is my guess.

The following year a further increase towards 80+

The market simply values Genel on 34k production pulling in 30m ish a month 360m per annum nothing more nothing less.

Because we are significantly under valued, simple as that.

GKP has been priced for the future of 55k, on current producing fundamentals GKP isn’t as valuable as Genel, so why isn’t Genel prices for future growth from pesh, twake, Taq, Bina, Sarta etc.

I just don’t get it and and did I mention gas, Morocco and somaliland. No value at all prices by the market.so yes on current production your POO charts are great by that misses a whole raft of potential which isn’t priced by the market.

I for one am feeling a little nervous for tomorrow especially if we get another shitty auction of size.

We have been held back for days now and right on cusp of what we all know will be outstanding FY numbers.

We are heavily lagging behind PMO and GKP today and POO is extremely bullish at the moment.
