DW - AFC would have to RNS any news applicable to AFC so you don’t need to trawl every news article related to green tech. So Jim is quite right, if it’s not related to AFC then it doesn’t belong on this board. Simple.

Hi taskmaster. After much deliberation, I decided against the electric mini on this occasion purely down to availability to recharge when I’m away. The battery range isn’t brilliant so when I’m away from home I’d be worrying about where to recharge. I’m convinced battery technology and charging infrastructure will improve exponentially in the next 3-4 years. I decided on a small petrol engine size this time around with efficiency mode.
There’s a lot of thinking to be done about UK charging. We have so many Victorian terraced properties. Where will you charge if you’re not outside your own home etc. Battery range will help here but the same issue arises regardless.

Hi Athansius. Bring down the cost of green hydrogen production via electrolysis using a new efficient membrane that does produce chlorine gas as a byproduct then you have a circular energy production.....
Excess Wind generates electricity to produce hydrogen from sea water(AFC’ Alkamem). The hydrogen is stored until it’s needed, producing electricity again (via AFC fuel cells), byproduct is water.
We just need a government strategy that extends beyond wind power. AFC Energy, a British company are can deliver these solutions, right now!

I hope Boris has a solution to every home being powered by wind when the wind stops blowing!

Thanks itsallbull. Ships are refuelled in ports currently? Off-shore just sounds very costly to me but time will tell of course.
I think today’s update is very significant for alkamem. Many people have been calling for an update for a long time. It’s today. The update is to the heart of the scientific and industrial community involved in electrolysis. The update must therefore be significant! Our partner De Nora is also alongside us. Exciting times for this strand of the business, hopefully.

Apologies if my question is naive, But what is the significance of off-shore generation ? Why couldn’t It be on-shore next to the sea ? We have disused nuclear plants next to the sea with infrastructure already in place to either export the hydrogen produced or alternatively export generated electricity produced from Fuel cells using the green hydrogen. Clearly the electrolysis process will require will require electricity to produce the green hydrogen but again, green power can be delivered to the on-shore site. Cheers
