Go back to a few years ago, AFC were previously looking at the ESCO model utilising waste hydrogen from industry that was otherwise being flared off. The Julich model is a smaller scale version of this but with hydrogen sourced by other means such as ammonia or other green hydrogen sources?
I envisage local electricity generation with perhaps multiple AFC fuel cell units being fed from municipal sites where incinerated waste is used currently. I still think that H2 generation from electrolysis plus units such as PHEs units (if proved to be scaleable) could provide local generation where it’s required without efficiency loss via grid transfer.
We see incinerators being built locally all the time around the country. Why not have a green version using AFC ?

There are so many applications for AFCs products, it’s mind boggling, and very exciting!

Athansius - arguably, the markets are stronger today from what I see compared to yesterday and it’s true (as we’ve recently witnessed) that a similar RNS to the ABB deal could see this moving north again. Yes Phat has guessed however with a string of news awaiting I’d prefer to air on the positive side:
1) potential new partnerships in the EV space
2) potential new deals and partnerships in the genset space
3) delivery of our first bespoke unit ((including electrolysed) to Extreme E
4) Extreme E kickoff with associated advertising for AFC
5) Endorsement by Lewis Hamilton
6) Further news on our relationship with DeNora
7) AlkaMem —rapid development and results from interested parties. Results exceeded expectations.
8) Acciona delivery
9) potential partnership with Acciona on the back of receipt of their unit
10) Julich delivery opening up a whole new market and potential
11) fitting out of our new production line in Dunsfold
12) expecting orders from ABB in Q3 this year to satisfy their need to partner with AFC - worldwide
13) more news due on the Middle East BoP production line. What other developments should we expect from this area of the world? Neom springs to mind
14) Dunsfold development -where better to show off our wares than our own back yard with the housing and business park due for construction soon

Mr Thomson has been in his new role for 1.5 days.
He, like us is facing life under new lockdown restrictions.
He may have relocated his family to start his new career. They will take TOP priority over impatient and inconsiderate PIs.
He’s entitled to an orderly introduction to his new organisation.
He will have a priority task list to focus on no doubt that will be controlled, as ever by AFC BoD.

Haggis- please don’t overstep the mark. My eldest and her boyfriend bubbling with us have tested positive yesterday. This new variant is very easily transmissible regardless of how careful we have all been in the past 9 months.

Yes there are people out there that clearly flout the rules without any regard for other people but nobody should underestimate this latest variant !

I suspect market is reacting to the new Scotland lockdown. Rest of UK to follow I suspect.

I’m not sure what your point is. We have come up with our own predictions (as a bit of new Year fun) based on research spanning almost 11 years for many of us. As you’ll see from many RNSs over all those years, AFC are more than capable of surprising us with left field news that can take the SP to any number of levels.

Nicknaim- that’s what the Extreme E contract is for and LH plus many other famous driving names all have their own teams. The races are to be fuelled by AFC Energy fuel cells!

Remember also that the more recent rises are not as the result of AFC news but a reflection of where the SP should be. Christmas holidays are ongoing. Our new PR chap doesn’t start his new role until next week. We may get an update on ExE delivery and a whole bunch of news to come in the coming weeks. This should be a very exciting new year for AFC and us investors.
Best news is the vaccine to kick this all off. Brexit sign off later today should also see renewed vigour and hopefully, new opportunities for UK - it is what it is, so time to move on and grow stronger

This really is the best news we could ask for at this time. This vaccine is safe and much cheaper to produce and will off hope to countries worldwide. What amazing scientists we have!

Very nice start to the day all. Lots of profit taking going on which is understandable but I can also guess that lots of orders are being filled at the same time.

I’d prefer to say it’s a 3 horse race with diesel genset replacement being a massive market to lead, through construction and/or events.
AFC could have so many fingers in multiple pies that we could end up with multiple assembly plants worldwide, relatively quickly

Apparently, UK has enough lithium reserves we’ll be self sufficient for many years. These reserves are abundant I read, in the disused tin mines in Cornwall. Providing the necessary permissions can be obtained, a fantastic opportunity exists for the UK to build and supply batteries in the quantities required over the coming years?

I’d like to think that ammonia is the way forward. Safe storage and greater volume of hydrogen per kilogram. Little information has been made available in relation to hydrogen sources but I’m sure AFC will be discussing options with potential partners/customers. I’d also like to think that AFC are themselves developing their own technology.... afterall, we’ve got alkamem, we’ve got the DeNora relationship (we’re still waiting on news on how this partnership will evolve) and we also have Hiiroc.
It’s inconceivable to think that we’ve developed arguably the best Fuel cell systems on the market but we don’t have a H2 supply mechanism/partnership.
There’s so much potential news to come it’s difficult to keep a straight face! :-D
