A very powerful finale to the BBC’s series, Perfect Planet if you’ve just watched it.
AFC have a big part to play in reducing CO2 emissions across the world and NOW is the time for Governments and organisations to act !
Ogggs - ExremeE have signed it off, so it works! Yes, it has to be transported to various locations but regardless of whether it’s Dunsfold or Saudi, it’s working and we know a small team of AFC engineers will accompany the race stages. IT WORKS !
Hi Duke. I’ve noticed that the Ricardo news isn’t mentioned on the afc website - can’t see anything on it using my smartphone.
I think it’s a significant partnership that should not be underestimated so surely the website should be all over this.
Very pleased to see confirmation of delivery to ExE yesterday. A major milestone achieved, so very well done to AFC. I look forward to further updates now on Acciona and Julich plus whatever else comes from the ABB and Ricardo partnerships. Exciting times ahead!
Haggis- if the FCA aren’t taking things seriously due to lack of resources then a nudge from parliament will be a strong indicator for them to investigate properly. Our collective voices should be represented by our elected representatives in government? Otherwise it’s single emails flooding FCA inbox which doesn’t seem appropriate. AIM needs tighter regulation.
Someone should set up a petition to Uk Gov to get it discussed by parliament ?
Now, of all times, we need our economy to recover and our fledgling companies to be allowed to prosper without having to deal with practices that only serve personal greed.
DW will never be satisfied. His cycle of negativity has started again. Multiple posts in succession bemoaning the lack of comms like a broken record. Then, when news is released he’s silent again. It’s been like this for years.
We’ve had a massive increase in SP. We’ve had very positive news on partnerships that will develop our commercialisation over coming months. Yesterday we had a blog update around this week’s Hydrogen Council conference and the positive effects that will undoubtedly have on our company. We have a pro-environment US president about to be sworn in. And for DW to insult the British people (regardless of your politics) by comparing our Prime Minister to Trump is disgraceful. UK is leading the world in vaccine rollout and the UK will lead the world in decarbonisation after this pandemic.
It’s very encouraging to see large financial institutions like Aegon making commitments in relation to their investments within our pension funds as well as their operational commitment to zero emissions.
I often work with Aegon via the large financial company I work for, so it’s good to see a shift towards decarbonisation in the pension arena.

Haggis- if that is the case I unreservedly retract. I hope my response to Oggs was at least positive in your research skills
Hi Oggs - that’s the point I was hinting at. Yes, funding levels need to be maintained and a portfolio rebalance is required often on a quarterly of six month interval. We have experienced a massive increase in our SP in a short period and, for a large investor like Schroders to be known to be selling as part of a rebalance of funds would cause panic amongst PIs and unnecessary selling off as we are arguably well below our true SP anyway whilst we await our next broker note(s). The Herculean efforts by the likes of Haggis have effectively neutralised any panic in the intervening period.
The Haggis research is exceptional by the way and very positive for this board despite some annoying responses to his fellow posters. Again, just my observations.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Haggis worked directly for Schroders. Nobody on this earth could spend as many hours per day pumping the incredible amount of research onto this and other boards without being paid to do so. Quietly in the background Schroders have been selling huge volumes and of course the sell off has been orderly and the SP has remained very stable.
If this is how Schroders operate then that’s fine as they are beholden to their funds limits and internal governance.
I find it difficult to comprehend that someone wouldn’t get dismissed from their job for spending so much of their time posting on forums like LSE. Just my observation.
Yellow... just a couple of days ago you posted “ We are due several updates, hopefully within January, maybe even this week?.
This is a momentum stock atm, without any declared revenue its all about what could be?. Or what may be?.
I am in for the long run here, so will adopt wait and see and top up when I can.
I still expect £2-3 by EOY, as a result of successful demonstrations and partnerships..”
You’re on ignore, permanently.
Hi conoro- remember though that our broker notes are behind the times with respect to the ABB partnership and of course, the previous fair values do not take into account alkamem or the solid fuel cell tech expected next year.
Regardless of what people think of broker notes, we have reached and exceeded current values so it’ll be interesting to see what the next fair values might be.
Go back to a few years ago, AFC were previously looking at the ESCO model utilising waste hydrogen from industry that was otherwise being flared off. The Julich model is a smaller scale version of this but with hydrogen sourced by other means such as ammonia or other green hydrogen sources?
I envisage local electricity generation with perhaps multiple AFC fuel cell units being fed from municipal sites where incinerated waste is used currently. I still think that H2 generation from electrolysis plus units such as PHEs units (if proved to be scaleable) could provide local generation where it’s required without efficiency loss via grid transfer.
We see incinerators being built locally all the time around the country. Why not have a green version using AFC ?
There are so many applications for AFCs products, it’s mind boggling, and very exciting!
Could be higher. Could be lower. Could stay where it is :)
Hi Banshee- I’ll take it from your comment that Welsh, Scottish and the Irish have no problem with mixing the word :-D
Just teasing ;)
Athansius - arguably, the markets are stronger today from what I see compared to yesterday and it’s true (as we’ve recently witnessed) that a similar RNS to the ABB deal could see this moving north again. Yes Phat has guessed however with a string of news awaiting I’d prefer to air on the positive side:
1) potential new partnerships in the EV space
2) potential new deals and partnerships in the genset space
3) delivery of our first bespoke unit ((including electrolysed) to Extreme E
4) Extreme E kickoff with associated advertising for AFC
5) Endorsement by Lewis Hamilton
6) Further news on our relationship with DeNora
7) AlkaMem —rapid development and results from interested parties. Results exceeded expectations.
8) Acciona delivery
9) potential partnership with Acciona on the back of receipt of their unit
10) Julich delivery opening up a whole new market and potential
11) fitting out of our new production line in Dunsfold
12) expecting orders from ABB in Q3 this year to satisfy their need to partner with AFC - worldwide
13) more news due on the Middle East BoP production line. What other developments should we expect from this area of the world? Neom springs to mind
14) Dunsfold development -where better to show off our wares than our own back yard with the housing and business park due for construction soon
Enough to keep us positive? I bloody well hope so :-D
Mr Thomson has been in his new role for 1.5 days.
He, like us is facing life under new lockdown restrictions.
He may have relocated his family to start his new career. They will take TOP priority over impatient and inconsiderate PIs.
He’s entitled to an orderly introduction to his new organisation.
He will have a priority task list to focus on no doubt that will be controlled, as ever by AFC BoD.
Quit your frankly laughable squirming on here and enjoy the fact that we have an exciting and rewarding year ahead of us, despite all of the pandemic gloom.
Haggis- please don’t overstep the mark. My eldest and her boyfriend bubbling with us have tested positive yesterday. This new variant is very easily transmissible regardless of how careful we have all been in the past 9 months.
Yes there are people out there that clearly flout the rules without any regard for other people but nobody should underestimate this latest variant !
I suspect market is reacting to the new Scotland lockdown. Rest of UK to follow I suspect.
That’s how I read it also BumbleB2
