At present the company will likely be sharing data with interested parties, quite common for this to be done virtually.

Great article LT. This is the direction Dan is looking at, NXP002 won’t be solely used on its own, it will be used in combination with another therapy as there are multiple pathways that need targeting all at the same time, no one therapy can do this all at once.

This is why Pharma is slow to buy into it, because it’s outside their normal working sphere, most pharma likes nice clean and easy to understand therapies, but IPF is turning out to be more complex than anyone imagined.

Show me another company that has given a list of pre-clinical trials, timelines and costs.

It is what it is... no one here can change the past. You either believe it will be worth more in the future than it is now, or you don't.

The company won't be going into phase 1 on their own, the 1m doesn't cover that as the company has previously said it would cost circa £2.6m. The placing was to give sufficient to carry out the further pre-clinical work and strengthen negotiating hand. Its impossible to negotiate if the company is not a going concern.

Overall I'm not worried by others in the inhaled IPF therapy space. I'd be more surprised if there were no competitors whatsoever.

Avalyn have their inhaled IPF treatment currently enrolling patients for Phase 2b.

Invox have two inhaled IPF therapies in their pipeline at early stages.

I think there are a few others as well, but can't remember.

Also, United Therapeutics this week announced Phase 3 results of their Tyvaso inhaled IPF therapy.

VikR, the market exclusivity starts on the date of marketing authorisation, after phase 3 trials are completed. So a long way off yet.

FX, AZ are historically not a fan of reprofiled drugs, they have tended not to go down that route so take extra convincing when compared to straight up new development. Previous discussions NFX had with AZ were around this aspect.

The large pharma may not necessarily be AZ. There are quite a few other multi-billion mcap companies with a UK presence that are way under peoples radar.

Correct, you can’t exclude the possibility, NFX has had contact with them previously.

LT, NXP002 will be used as a combination therapy. IPF treatment is moving in that direction with the realisation that no singular therapy will be satisfactory.

NXP002 is not ‘better’ than other therapies, it is different and the inhalation route allows it to be used alongside an oral treatment to target IPF across multiple facets at once.
