Seingred I think Omi is driven more by sentiment than fundamentals waiting for the fundamental news on how profitable or viable this mine may be. Sentiment became overexhuberent, when it turned it frightened investors off as cut losses, there are still more investors cutting losses than coming in. On another note it is such a shame that writers here have to use pejorative words like muppet, like school kids, rather than having respectful helpful and intelligent conversations as on some more serious boards, maybe a sign that this is a flighty share imho

John, Bhargav may be very optimistic, even excessively so, but I see no reason to think he is a ramper just genuinely very enthusiastic, and a bit intolerant of investors who are more measured, just as they are intolerant of wishful thinking. On which note WEBBS where do you guess this share price might be in a month and by Xmas?

LUCKY, I am reckoning about the same, second half should be very strong as depends on first half sales prices so already baked in, 2022 I’d looking good if PGMs stay stratospheric

LUCKY, almost 2/3rds of Platinum sales are for industrial use including autos, over a quarter is jewellery leaving pretty little investment demand, therefore imho platinum has recovered with hope of a fast recovering economy whilst gold has done the opposite

Supercharger, think this was for the Centamin board? I think Centamin is a great long term bet, they don't have the political problems of Hoc, they have long mine life, and ounces should rise and costs fall by 2023, they have other potential and management haven't been selling shares, we can see the gap in share price between Centamin and Hoc has been falling and I expect that fall will continue. I continue to hold Hoc but happily sold some for Tharisa that are undervalued unlike Hoc and going up. I am hoping that after falling more silver will recover though now we are hedged we will be less exposed to that

BPat890 you can measure a share price from anywhere, actually when a share price passes its previous peak it is a really good sign, however when it regains its all time peak, taking a few years to do so, and then nearly halves that is not only painful but a pretty bad sign. On a more fundamental basis the share price is essentially anticipation of future profit, with our costs up so much, Arcata closing and Pallancata needing to hedge so not be threatened with losing money, delays in rare earths and political challenges in Peru Argentina and Chile the market"s expectations are that profits will fall and so selling like the owner. I do hope that all these experienced people are wrong but PBIT wasn't great given the share price in 2019 but then management hoped for much better, as it turns out looks like 2021 will be a fair bit lower? I still hold but feel pretty stupid not to have joined Eva etc getting out at 270. Remember if silver soars we are less than half silver and half of that is now hedged for next two years so that won't quite save us?

It would be interesting to see where all think the price will be in a month, and at the end of the year, including Webb who has been the most accurate lately, though there is a lot of luck in it, it is not an easy one

Just so ragnarlothbrok. I sold Tui for Tharisa a couple of days ago so was pretty browned off at having done so when TUI promptly rose by 10% so nice to se Tharisa at least rising 5%. However on a better note sold Fres for Tharisa yesterday and Fres has fallen while THS has risen, so overall this week I am just where I would have been with no sale for Tharisa BUT in a much better position for the future, I guess THS will have a couple of goes at taking out it’s high of 158.5 but once it does it should go a long way so I am thrilled to have now amassed 250k. One to keep buying and like a staircase pauses for a while then shoots up

Sorry TrueBlue, did you not see this is th CEY board, for Crotchety, Elderly, Yahoos. They are the ones who “vocalize by chattering, howling, grinning, roaring”. Only joking, but a few of us lovely people do go off Cey the miner a bit, writing about what they find wrong about the modern world as old men losing their power always have, and getting grumpy about posts about our eponymous gold miner and its falling profits, as like on most boards a few noisy and sometimes sanctimonious grumps can think it is the hot air of positive chat about the share, surrounded by a mass of negative chat about the world, journalism, democracy etc, that keeps the price afloat. It can be very scary to read especially the intolerance of others’ political or economic views. So back on message I carry on believing that this will be a bad year for Centamin profits, agreeing with our management, and probably gold, however much this annoys CEY’s. The world will muddle along, hopefully the vital 4th estate will survive all the attacks of CEY’s (gosh wasn’t Trump one and harnessed their anger) and many assets competing with gold which are in bubble territory may rise further as bubbles go further that we think. We are all sorry gold didn’t join the bubble, but a new lot have come along and looked elsewhere. Some think leaving the eu is good some bad, but it has little effect on price of Cey or gold except the pound and that is much where it was 10 years ago. So quite agree Market, lovely to hear from you as ever, it is the chat about Centamin and where and why it will go in the widest sense, that is so useful here. Well put it another way, profit 62m in 2016, 42m in 2019 the year you prefer to use rather than the aberrant 2020. It was a period gold rose, problem really is costs rise faster. There is a reason our share price is 40% down, investors who worry about profits decline. I do hope you are right and that ounces exceed prediction and recover to where they were and costs fall back, but latest figures didn’t seem to suggest this, hence the further falls on strongish gold and silver. I SO SO hope Hoc can reverse its decline or that gold and silver soar to help it. Fingers and toes crossed

LUCKY I just sold some Fres to buy a few more here too, taking my holding to a round 250,075, shame I have double the value in Cey and thrice in Hoc but can’t bring myself to sell ever hoping gold will turn

Tiger not quite back to all time high as so very Rhodium dependent which is still 3% off. Platinum needs to rise 4 times faster than rhodium to have the same effect on our revenue, palladium 5 times faster. We reall have become a Rhodium miner just now with some other bits. However all our metal price rises welcome, especially when rhodium finally breaches 30000. Hooefully if the chip shortage ends and car production rises then so should rhodium?

BREAKTWISTER, Hoc earning per share have just about halved in the last 5 years, despite rising PM prices, but of course you are right that IF they could find loads of gold (and silver) in Inmaculada and get it out at lower prices and in so doing double earnings per share we would be back where we were. However that is a pretty tall order? Of course the other thing that would do it is soaring PM prices, tho of course if those continue falling, however much we find won’t help. Anyway quite good news on Inmaculada exploration holes but need far more so we can stop being hand to mouth with falling ounces, rising costs and falling earnings, particularly with rare earths falling behind schedule and demanding capital too. Imho

Breaktwister, sorry but I thought ounces had fallen and aisc risen over the last few years, speeded by rising Arcata costs forcing closure and Pallancata costs forcing hedgeing. However I’ll check the figures later and of course apologise if actually overall Hoc ounces have been rising and aisc falling over last few years. All best

Sorry for what, holding OMI and being asked the reason why I hold giving it??? It has nothing to do with your current position, purchase price or amount owned, and excuse percentages. Quite simply if the share price is 18p as now, and if I think 1p and £1 are equally likely then one has an equal chance of making 82p or losing 17p. That seems a good gamble to me or anyone. Why do you want an apology for that reasoning do explain and have a lovely weekend without any maths! All the best

Jwoz I was saying my reason for holding is that for me 1p and £1 are equally likely but if that is the case I have an equal chance of making 80p or losing 20p on each share, so 80% chance of making money v 20% losing it so no brainier to stay in as long as don’t mind that chance of losing a little to make a lot, if that makes sense
