Tomaa, I think you are right, but it’s going to take years to put right. If RR are not making/losing money on contracts then where does it leave RR in regard to all the future contracts they have made. All the comments made in the past by a certain individual about the contracts being recession proof/wages proof/energy proof are just a joke (the same as him).
Now we know why RR are trying to diversify into SMR’s etc, they are losing money on their daily business. But you only have to look at their financial statements to see this. I said last week RR lost another £800 million since their last financial statement, and that’s with the rampers saying “China reopening, more flying hours, FLAAA contract”. Well if the CEO is rubbishing the company it doesn’t look good. Come back Warren East all is forgiven, ha ha.
RR were 5.2 billion in debt in aug, they paid off 2 billion from the ITP sale leaving 3.2 billion of debt. They are now saying they have 4 billion of debt, so my question is, have they burnt through 80 million in the past six months?

Mingy, I will have a wonderful day, getting out and about, meeting friends in the pub. You just stay in your bedroom by yourself, panicking in case the share price goes down. Get a life saddo.

Mingefest, I know the difference and so does my Ladbrokes account. Lots of investors have lost money dealing in shares. Any fool can keep ploughing money into a share because they haven’t got a clue how to invest.

No one believes what you say! You have proven time and again you are a liar. The only parts being manufactured are cross over parts, ie parts that can be used on more than one process.
Pgroey, then I suggest someone tells your COO. No wonder RR were £5 billion in debt last year, probs because they make parts for orders they don’t have.
No they haven’t. They may have some cross over parts that can be used for dual projects. Considering you are a RR man and only listen to the spiel they put out then may I suggest that you read the comments of RR SMR Chief operating officer David White who states that RR needs confirmation from the government so it can set up supply chain agreements with companies so they can manufacture the SMR components.
I agree, but it’s been happening for years and I can’t see it ending anytime soon. Plus two billion pounds for an SMR or two hospitals for two billion, ( Liverpool’s new 650 bed hospital cost approx one billion built and fully fitted out ). Just my opinion.
Svend, I hope you are right about the SMR’s but I can’t see the government funding this. There are a lot more things the government can spend their money on. Schools are falling to pieces, the NHS needs a massive investment and everyone is on strike for more pay. They can get EDF or GE to build and run SMR’s for very little cost to themselves. Why pay for an untried/untested RR SMR when other firms already have proven ones?
