****nal, last week these “wasters” were the best engineers in the world??? I can’t see how anyone can justify Turfans comments. He comes across as a wannabe super hero. No clue how to conduct a business meeting, or just no clue?

****nal, no, what he did was to shoot his mouth off and cost a lot of share holders money. He needed to keep the state of the business in-house and sort it. A school boy error.

Tomaa, the cretin is probably hiding under his desk as we speak. That’s what happens when you employ a CEO with absolutely no knowledge of the aerospace industry.

My opinion, for what it’s worth, is I can’t see Turfan lasting a year. I’ve see a few of these “supermen” riding in on their steed promising the world, very few of them have delivered. I think he will find working in the UK totally different to working in Saudi and Turkey.
If he is correct in what he says about most of RR’s sectors being unprofitable, then how can he change that quickly when most of the RR contracts are already signed and sealed and last years. Getting rid of some workers won’t make a major difference especially as someone posted on here earlier that RR are actively seeking more skilled workers. I honestly can’t see how he can fix RR but will be keeping a close eye on the future.

Tomaa, we’ve had a month of good news stories that RR didn’t put into an RNS, now the CEO has stabbed the company in the back with his poor choice of words. Glad he’s not my tennis doubles partner.
There is one thing for sure, the next set of results are not going to look good, if they do the CEO will look like a fool —- instead of a tool.

Tomaa, when I worked for Aston Martin, in 2014 Andrew Palmer joined us as CEO, within a month he held a factory gathering of all staff where he proceeded to tell us we were sh*t, the cars we built were sh*t, the company was sh*t, and there was going to be a cull of the workforce and a “new way to build cars using a lean methodology” was going to introduced. NONE of this news was filtered through to the newspapers, certainly no direct quotes from Palmer. How did RR’s employee chat end up as front page news.
PS, Palmer forgot to mention HE was sh*t as well.

Metom, I don’t disagree agree that this government have been rubbish, my point was this is RR’s problem not the governments. Even if the government give them the SMR contract, which must be doubtful now the CEO has basically said the company doesn’t know how to run its business, then the SMR side is still 10 years away.

Mark, oh ok, thought it was a bit weird if they got rid of skilled workers. Although, having worked for a couple of car manufacturers myself, I bet there will be a few “old uns” banging down the HR door to volunteer.

With all these orders “in the bag” you would think that RR would want to keep hold of this “highly skilled workforce” not make them redundant.
Didn’t RR staff threaten strike action a few months ago, then received a nice bonus & wage rise? What will they do with the potential threat of redundancy hanging over them, and who would pay a bloated, maybe, workforce more money? Maybe the same people that negotiated the future contracts.
Not looking forward to the end of year statement next month.

Mark so you are happy to invest in a company that the CEO said isn’t making money. Had to have a fire sale last year, selling ITP, otherwise the debts would be worse than they are, and the debts are growing again. So you tell me how a company makes money - more importantly can you let RR know.
