Cheers tomaaa PSK. On the China/Covid issue, I messaged two days ago my son, who has a clothing business buying from China, amongst other countries, was told the factory in guangdong will be shutting for a period in January due to Covid. Not sure if Chinese employers get told first, just saying what he has been told, DYOR.

PSK, yeah I could do. The only reason is that I have a set amount in my ISA that will be my “proper retirement fund” that will buy me a place to live in Cyprus in three years time. So I have my ISA that I don’t touch, apart to add more to, and my “play money” that I can afford to lose just in case it hits the fan.

Wanderer, bought 10,000 at 86.5 on Tuesday morning, sold at 91.5 this morning. So approx £500 profit less dealing fees. I have been trading a few different stocks for the past two years but have to admit that RR has been the one I have traded the most. I do also have an ISA with my main portfolio of shares in that I won’t touch for another three years.

Invest, doggies can have a turkey each, but not a free range one.

The point I was making was imo this is still a great trading share. If/when china goes back into lockdown in January this share will drop back nicely imo

Tomaaa, Sold my trading shares this morning, bought at 86.5p sold at 91.5p. Profit on two days = £500. Nice work if you can get it. Will buy back in in mid 80’s ( hopefully ), but not fussed if it keeps rising as LTH shares doing very nicely in ISA.

Red, Daz, 3 reasons to buy RR, then goes on to knock the three reasons. Not a great read, hence why this share for now, for me is a trading share. Bought a few yesterday at 88.5p and will sell when/if they get to 90p, hopefully before the new year.

All British airways flights in USA and Caribbean are cancelled due to a technical hitch. That’s probs why Mingevest thinks the airports are loaded.

Bad, I agree, plenty of money wasted during pandemic, and lots of people/companies on the make. That’s why money is tight. Talking of track and trace & covid:
Keep your eyes and ears open on the china covid situation. My son imports goods from guangdong province and has been told that the factory will be shut due to covid in the early part of January. Also saw on the news people have (reported) started to die from covid, I can see another lockdown happening in china in January. They have a sub standard vaccine they have been using and have thrown caution to the wind in re opening.

Bad, I can’t see the government paying sixty billion for thirty SMR’s whilst in this financial crisis. And RR have said they won’t start a serious ramp up without the government saying they will invest.
I think the government will be quite happy to sit back and wait for private equity funding to flow in, so it’s will cost them next to nothing.
There are four SMR’s being built at this moment in time, in Argentina, Russia and china, these have an estimated build time of five and a half years, the same as RR.
One last thing, the RR SMR’s still have to get regulatory approval which could also be another reason why the government are keeping quiet.
RR SMR received eighty five million pounds from Qatar for a stake in the company.
