RE: A8 Deep Well............28 Nov 2021 19:32
Evening KK,
The structure definitely is continuous as reported below and yes A5’s TD sidetrack is to be drilled to 4,500m.
Deep Well A6 was spudded in November 2015, targeting the same structure as Deep Well A5 in the Middle and Lower Carboniferous, and reached a revised Total Depth of 4,528 meters in October 2016. From the analysis of wire line logging, gross oil-bearing intervals totaling 127 meters have been identified. These are in two intervals, the first of 72 meters between depths of 4,313 meters and 4,385 meters. The second is of 55 meters between depths of 4,450 and 4,505 meters.
A8 Deep Well was last reported at 5,046m and the four 90m gross intervals could very easily be hovering around 5,000m.
..
801 Well sidetracked not far off 5,000m with oil bearing intervals and if drilled deeper 450m deeper they’d be in the Devonian.
As previously announced our plan to bring Deep Well 801 into production was by drilling a side track of between 450 – 500 meters from a starting depth of 4,501 meters.
Having identified potential oil bearing (net-pay) intervals covering in aggregate 121 meters so far during the drilling of the side-track, we have decided to stop the side-track at a depth of 4,851 meters and, after running and cementing a 5-inch liner to the full depth of the side-track, to test the well.
Four potentially oil bearing intervals have been identified during drilling and supported by mud log data. The first of 6 meters between 4,535 and 4,541 meters; the second is of 20 meters between 4,554 and 4,694 meters; the third is of 59 meters meters between 4,635 and 4,694 and the fourth is of 36 meters between 4,812 and 4,848 meters.
The pressure in Well 801 remains high indicating good connectivity.
This structure looks definitely continuous and the reason Carver didn’t say so was probably because they couldn’t flow all the wells and therefore couldn’t get an echo of the oil connectivity, but the will eventually.
Would love to see a real technical report to chew the fat over...........
