A8 Deep Well revised current depth.....guestimate29 Oct 2021 16:28
From the past couple of RNS's I have worked out the current drill speed of the A8 Deep Well, which is approx. 5.6m per day – slower than I originally thought (10m per day), and can now see why they’re estimating the A5 Deep Well sidetrack taking 6 months to drill 650m (approx. 7m per day).
Which means we should be around the 5,135m mark today - casing aside.
That’s means if they were to drill to TD it would take approx. another 33 days plus casing/ initial flow test (IF there’s live oil down that deep to flow test) to add so another 40 days for the A8 Deep Well to hit TD?
If they can get to 5,300m TD - I don’t think they will though as Carver didn’t seem that confident in his last A8 commentary – ‘when we stop drilling’.
So I think the next RNS will be about the 153 Horizontal Wells flow rate/ blocked etc. and the current depth of the A8 Deep Well being around the 5,135m mark – perhaps they’ve already stopped drilling and are now testing multiple intervals 4-8 oil bearing zones? Hopefully we’ll get to know the API and net thickness of each interval to boot.
If any of these oil bearing deep pre salt intervals flow commercial quantities of oil then we’re in the money and there’s several intervals to test.
Got to be in it to win.
