Lack of competence to get country under control with sensible rules is costing hospitality billions.
One simple rule : Weak masks! outdoor or indoor. And avoid social gathering if not vaccinated. How hard is it for people to do this..
Totally agree.
We nicely bounced off of 200MA 109.35p. Lets see if it holds and stays up. Nothing too crazy so far which is nice
GLA and ATB todays movements will define how market is thinking about this whole situation. and I will certainly hope it is way smarter than these decision makers...
I could be totally wrong, but my personal view is cases wont go down if we extend this lockdown. Because nobody cares anymore and people are rushing outdoors without social distancing. I went to town center yesterday and was shocked how normal life looked.
If their strategy is more people can get second shot. These 2nd shot group will continue to roam outside and wont prevent them from getting infected

So many under 30 age groups out there drinking and going to sports events without masks.
Hypocrisy is we are debating about extending restrictions for indoor gathering. I think people still don't get it that this virus spreads even outdoors
I feel this won’t have any impact on travel stocks . We are not discussing about lockdown here. It’s just restrictions to allow/prevent indoor night clubs or gatherings
If this was about extending National lockdown then sure I’d be worried.

FYI that article was posted today. But the entire article talks about collapse in 2020 as if no one noticed till date...
And the title makes it sound like its collapsed in 2021/now...
I also don’t see extension of restrictions for another month as a negative news, we are not going into lockdown, we are just saying keep wearing masks for little longer so we can cover more age groups to avoid steeper waves down the line.
And also inevitable reality is Covid waves will keep on happening around the world and new variants will keep on coming. This virus is here to stay, since we need to vaccinate entire planet which will take few years until then these road bumps will exist
Agreed CW, but on the other hand I think it is also entirely possible that RR will ignore these 2 points and rally due to vaccine rollout and other economies ( US, EU ) opening up. Cases in India are also at an all time low so international travel to India might open in coming month or two.
Call me mad but my thinking is gov is intentionally scare mongering to push people to get vaccinate soon. Think of it like a farm where sheep need to be threatened to force them into their guarded home.
This threat of delta Variant news etc is actually helping country to get vaccinated soon. So it’s a win win
Frankfurt closed at 1.34! which we saw back in March. I think we will see 115p on Monday. And All these variant news will have no impact I feel. Vaccination is our only measure and it is going well. And corona is not going away anytime soon just like common cold and other viruses. So people need to learn to live with it and move on
Ignore all the scare mongering news. Stay positive enjoy the hot weekend guys! Speak to you all Monday.

That'd be sweet. Predictions for tomorrow Red?
Analysis: What's the chance of a UK-US travel corridor this summer?
The data suggests that the US should be green-listed now, but delays are likely until at least mid-July, finds Emma Featherstone.
Biden and Johnson are set to announce a new joint travel task force at today’s G7 summit in Cornwall, with the group expected to report back next month. This could pave the way for holidays to our fourth most-visited country – British residents made 4.79 million trips to the USA in 2019. But when?
Paul Charles, chief executive of travel consultancy The PC Agency, puts mid-July as the earliest date at which a UK/US travel corridor may be established. He cites the UK Government’s “bearish and quite inexplicable outlook” as one of the stumbling blocks, stating:
