* because they published the concept first for that particular indication?
I guess if they get some reasonable results in trials (may be not as effective as 1a, but effective at least) then they may have a low cost solution due to the lack of patent coverage on nebulised 1b? That's my understanding.
It seems that he is hinging on the fact that his group published this article in May 2020 so any patents applied for after that my not be granted

Thanks matterhorn, confirming what you're saying, and extract from the linked patent:
Influenza like illness is a disease characterised by two of the following symptoms: headache, cough, sore throat, and myalgia and/or confirmed influenza. More specifically, ILI may be defined as a fever >37.8°C plus two of the following symptoms: (headache, cough, sore throat, and myalgia) and/or confirmed influenza infection.
The 'more specifically bit seems a bit ambiguous but probably just my understanding.
So Dr Aurelian is then challenging that they submitted some sort of trial plan before Synairgen submitted their latest patent application specifically for COVID? And therefore it may not get granted?
Or maybe Dr Aurelien is an academic and not interested in 'commercialisation' as such. You wonder whether the governement could fund and arrange for the interferon formulation they're looking to use to be purchased and made ready for nebulisation and not sold as such. Unlikely but would probably do anything to catch up on their current state.
Probably different in Pharma and in a pandemic. If they've not tried to commercialise it then probably not much you can do?
Synairgen's patent here https://patents.google.com/patent/EP2544705A2/en seems to cover all Interferon Beta as long as it is delivered via the airway to treat and influenza-like infection. Surely that covers 1a 1b and doesn't depend on the formulation but on the method of delivery. So if they're using a nebuliser then this would be via the airway.
My thoughts are that they may try and treat the population in a 'non commercial' way and claim that the patent doesn't apply (paid for by the government for the greater good of the country?) Speculating massively.
I believe the new Aerogen nebuliser is less effective/efficient than the Philips one and that's one of the reasons they've upped the dose?
Later on in that article I think it says the doses will only actually be ready in autumn 21.
When I visit the page it says:
"5 people have already supported andrew Thain’s petition.
We need to check it meets the petition standards before we publish it.
Please try again in a few days."
Seems to be in review now. Cannot sign it.
Occam's razor would point to him not having had it at all. Just a stunt.
Wrong decade by the looks of it. 2010?
I should add that our two new large investors are US based so unlikely we'd get an RNS when their markets are closed? Could be wrong though, hopefully!
US markets are closed on Monday apparently so would be Tuesday.
The finals aren't normally released this early though. Looking at previous years the earliest they've been released is the 3rd of July and mostly around the 17th July. There has also normally been an RNS announcing the date of release of results prior to the actual results. Would this year be different for any reason?
6.279 to buy and 6.3 to sell for a time there on HL.
