To understand the price action, you need to work out the total float shorted then figure out using average volumes, how many days to cover. Then find a strong buying day like today - to figure out how much the price could rise with all buys on that day. However, the institutions with big short positions will typically wait for a bad news day to close, where there is plenty of selling volume to sell into. What’s interesting now is though - we could be seeing a solid week, if not more, of solid price rises. So it’s now a case of get out now, or get out in 2 weeks where they could be another 10% underwater.
