Solomon, MSC own 25 cruise ships in the Med with another 9 ultra-clean LNG powered ships on order. They want a share of easyJet aircraft and I guess the increasingly successful holidays business. CastleLake are after the residual aircraft’s slots will be sold across the open market. This is not a takeover to run the company as-is. It’s a buy, break up and asset strip. This is what happens when your board don’t bother to look after shareholder value. Current net asset value of easyJet is over 9 billion. Why does our share price not represent this? We will see a 30% haircut on that asset value but if an offer comes in, it won’t be shy of 700p and expecting closer to 900p tbh to get stellios on board

MikeS02, Difference this time - MSC wont be buying the lot, they will be buying a chunk that works for them. The remainder of the chunk will work from someone else. Sounds to me like someone heard that this was under discussion between MSC and CastleLake and leaked it. Plenty would not want to see this deal go through. I guess they also thought they would come back in after the Winter season, when margins are tighter and the business makes a loss. Reduces the net cash value and therefore less to bid?

Blackrock hold a lot of easy - the current sell-off is probably a little profit taking to put elsewhere rather than a full move out. But Who knows?
