That's the big problem as you say they can't just port over to due to the pensions / crown guarantee , if not part of BT then what happens to the pensions affecting the crown agreements. We are not talking just the 33500 that would go across we are talking people that started with bt then have come across to openreach and then over to the new provider even the unions say it just could not happen due to the complexity of it and that's just the start mate.
Anyway mate it will all come out in the wash and all we can do is sit back and watch it unfold .
If openreach did become a separate company can you imagine the share price as far as I'm aware it's by far the most profitable part of BT.
I was just reading this mate about BT.
BT’s chief executive Gavin Patterson has said EU regulations mean it cannot be forced to break up with Openreach, the broadband network it controls, as it unveiled a boost in sales and profits.
“Last time I looked we were still part of the EU,” he said. “After taking a lot of legal advice, there’s nothing in the European framework mechanism that would allow a forced separation of any company in telecoms.
