It’s all down to 2 things. Driving instructor standards are shockingly bad and the capabilities/attitude of the individual. Where I live, Every day I see driving instructors parked on double yellow lines on a junction, or blocking somebodies drive etc etc talking to their client. Driving instructors driving well in excess of the speed limit to get too their client/going home. Just some of the incidents I see. Then you have some women, like men, who should just not even be allowed near a car, let alone in one and driving it. Add to that the way they have been taught, with the “yeah, just pull over here, it doesn’t matter, etc etc” attitude of the driving instructor then you get the carnage on the roads we're getting now.
Bearing in mind some of these sheet drivers go on to become driving instructors themselves, therefore lowering the standard of drivers on our road. Rinse and repeat for the last 20 years and you now have a standard of driving equivalent to a baboon smoking crystal meths and drinking 10 pints of Carlsberg Special Brew.

For me I think there are 3 reasons for the basic failure of the recent attempt at raising more cash.
I think the first is the total lack of communication on gas flows. The be all and end all of the whole project. That in itself has it’s own reasons and is a whole topic on it’s own.
The LTH’s (myself included) have invested so much money over the years, either averaging down or just buying at what was thought a steal of a SP, that they don’t have anything left to invest on the scale TG requires. I personally have mid five figures invested. I have invested what I can afford to lose, although I think it would be fair to say there would be a hell of a lot of expletives if that were to happen lol. I couldn’t take up my full entitlement on that last raise as I didn’t have £10,000. Had I done I would have taken it though because I am 100% sure TG is gonna get us over the line and make us all a good return. I did however take £5,000’s worth but that is me done now unfortunately.
Lastly, I think investors are sick to the back teeth of the Botswana politics that are being played out. I for one just cannot get to grips as to how Botswana/South Africa is dying 5,000 deaths a day due to a lack of power and yet they treat a company, that has taken the chance to invest in their country and help them to achieve power self sufficiency, with utter contempt for doing so. Investment will come in bundles but it will only come, like you said, when the project is proven. Wether that be 5MW or 10MW. It will happen. Just a case of when next year.
Just been down to the corner shop near HE1 site to get my paper. I got talking to my mate who owns the shop and he says Lorna popped in earlier. He tried to get some info from Lorna but she wasn’t giving anything away. He said she did have a squeaky voice but that was because she trapped her fingers in the car door.

LOL
Not only does every Government need great publicity, it does and I definitely include ours in this, need “lubrication.” The only difference is the African nations are more or less open about it and don’t care where as our lot are a set of devious rats who don’t like Joe Public knowing.
Like the expenses scandal back in the day.
Maybe TG should have said get us up and running asap and I’ll make sure you get a “special delivery” lol
I’ve been sat on the sofa this morning cos it’s persisting it down outside. I got to thinking about Tlou. Let’s face it, the Bots Government haven’t exactly broke a leg in a rush to progress Tlou’s substantial potential. None of us, except TG maybe, know or will ever know the reasons why.
My thoughts are that the Bots Government have had the attitude of “yeah, whatever. Get back to us when you are supplying power.” Basically we are not going to take you seriously until that power is flowing into the grid. The main thing is, I think once the power is flowing next year, fingers crossed and kiss the rabbits foot, the Bots Government will suddenly be Tlou’s best friend forever and it will be a case of “your wish is our command.” The reason why? Because it will be absolutely be milked to death by the Bots Government in publicity for years to come.
What Government doesn’t like a great opportunity to say how great they are?
I wasn’t expecting that but it is more than welcome. Thought the next RNS would be the 1/4erly in October.
Great to see real progress being made now although not as fast for some’s liking. As long as it comes to fruition for all the LTH to enjoy the spoils I’ll be a happy man. Keep it going TG.
For all those that were buying at mid 9’s in mid July.
Winn.
Are we building up to the “transmissions line now complete and sub stations on way and the gas flows are now proven to be commercial” RNS or just another quarterly update in 6 weeks time? Looking forward to connection to the grid next year and hopefully an upward trajectory on the SP for all the LTH’s.
Just been on Bloomberg channel.
Power crisis anger sets South Africa on a path for record protests.
If Tlou were up and running just think what could be achieved, income wise, by selling to countries screaming out for power like South Africa. Tlou could name their price and probably get close to it or even get it. Come on Tlou, it’s not just Botswana that needs our power. Time to bring the bacon home as me Gran used to say. lol
Like they say it is and keep saying it is, even upgrading the volume, then why won’t they not pay the going rate or even over the odds to get a rig and get this up and running asap? Surely they would want to get into production like yesterday? I don’t think LTH’s would be to bothered if they knew another raise was going to get them to discovery/production. There are a lot of questions to be asked and answered now. Now Noble’s got a rig in a matter of months, it highlights in big neon lights just how inept Helium One have been and still are. Time to prove this is not a lifestyle company with the entire BOD offering to take a 50% pay cut until they get a rig sorted and a spud date. Over to you Stalker.
The definition of incompetence is to make the same mistakes over and over again but expect a different outcome. How very apt .
I wish I could afford to buy my full entitlement in the open offer but, thankfully, at least I can afford to take part. Just waiting for funds to go into the auld ISA account and will then instruct HL to purchase 200,000. I was thinking of selling my Mum to raise more funds but she didn’t want to take part. A bit selfish I thought.
Cheers Brad.
Just had a reply off HL. They are waiting for the entitlement from the company and HL will be in touch when they have it.
Had to fone HL yesterday as they had no information on the entitlement offer on my account.
They said they knew nothing about the offer, wether I was entitled to participate, wether HL was offered to participate or any dates that had to be complied with.
Got to fone back today after being on the fone 20 minutes yesterday while HL tried to find out what was going on. Aren’t HL supposed to know this stuff?
Winni.
I would think they have learned lessons from the past about shouting from the rooftops about the company. Especially for plans for the future as Botswana is not the easiest country to develop a company within time frames and within budget as we have found out.
I often wonder where Tlou would be now if the Botswana government had gave it it’s full support and co-operation all those years ago?
I think it's a case now of releasing news when it is only necessary. Not good for the SP but neither is false dawns. Just need to get connected to the grid and generate an income and I think this will progress very quickly. Onwards and upwards.
Winn.
That’s what I can’t get my head round. They’re absolutely desperate for power, but as far as I can see, don’t exactly go out their way to accommodate companies that try to supply them with it and with their own resources. Surely any normal Government would be bending over backwards to not only help their fellow countrymen and women but also progress and develop the country as a whole. It’s almost like “chill out, we’ll do it next week, next month, next year”
Any project that will help people out of poverty in their own country should be backed to the hilt. Yes, hopefully, I and other shareholders will benefit but Botswana will benefit the most from our investment from having their own power grid. That to me is as much rewarding as hopefully making money on the shares.
I think the jury is still out Winn.
Not looked into here for a while as it seemed to stagnate and not do much.
It has now, it’s down 75% since last August. Is there actually any staff left running the company? Or has it been left to the office cleaner?
Thornback.
Obviously I hope it doesn’t come true as well but never be surprised with what happens on AIM.
You rarely see institutional investors investing in companies on AIM at the start of their journey. They let the PI’s take all the risk, hoping for a multi multi bagger and then if or when it has been de risked, that is when they will pile in or even buy the company outright making millions in the process while the PI’s get the crumbs.
Ask yourself this. Where was the Doc and the sophisticated investor when this was 11p? Or 7p, or even 4p? But now it’s 2p and on the verge of grid connection and production of first electricity, we’re getting investors starting to crawl out the woodwork. The likes of you, me, Brad, Winn, BTS, Whizzer and many more who have been here for years have to pay market value and didn’t even get an offer to be part of the raise. It is the timing of the Doc’s investment that concerns me a lot. let’s just hope I’m wrong and the Doc is a genuine investor Pal.
They don’t call AIM the wild west of the stock markets for nothing though. lol
