Being known as the investor (i.e tight arse of my peer group) I'd been asked by a friend at the football what to do with 10k he'd been gifted by his father in law , his father in law had told him to invest it all in SXX.

I advised him that I wouldn't touch junior miners myself as too risk and he should split it 3 ways, putting a third in SXX, third in Unilever and a third in an investment trust .

1 year later, I was glancing enviously at some of my work peers who'd made a fair bit on bitcoin and decided it was time for me to add a bit of risk to my portfolio. A little bit of sizzle on my steak. Classic late cycle move into riskier assets.

I decided to allocate about 20% to either bitcoin or SXX as a bit of a moonshot and once in a lifetime gamble. SXX won based on ... and you'll laugh at this ... some Motley Fool articles.

1 year after that, I'd realised i'd lost a lot of money, but you know something, it's a lesson every investor has to learn and there's nothing to say it's over yet.

I can only go off what I've read in these forums and agree foxestocks hasnt come across as a BS merchant.

However to anybody reading these rumours until there's more confirmation say on twitter or on the Facebook groups I wouldnt go out and but a ton of shares.

The raise is for $20m (I'm assuming AUD) at 70 cents a share.

This would fit in with an extra 10% allocated for shares in a previous RNS. Although i was confused by the wording.

I'm personally not panicking, a further bit of dilution was expected in the broker reports i read.

Hopefully this is the last raise.

The information relating to the 2015 Colluli Mineral Resource estimate was compiled by Mr. John Tyrrell, unde r the supe rvisio n of Mr. Stephen Halabura M.Sc. P. Geo. Fellow of Engineers Canada (Hon), Fellow of Geoscientists Canada, and a geologist with ove r 25 yea rs’ experience in the potash mining industry.

Actually I'm totally unsure now. I don't know if that's an additional 10% of what was placed, or an additional 10% of the company.

Within all of this there were far more positive messages coming from the company and brokers.

You wouldn't expect the company to down play things, but I expected better from the brokers. Lesson learned there moving forward.

I think a lot of the bulls and especially the smooth talking ones went into retreat after the bond failure, for some it might have simply been a case of licking their wounds or waiting for the dust to settle.

People are happy to be led rather than doing their own research and those who prevent the most convincing case are more likely to be followed, so what do we do ban posters than make a convincing argument? Dumb things down?
