FJGooner.. re your excellent post of 23.27... I think what you want to say is "100 fully underwritten". Not "subscribed". Tone is right, only 43.63% were subscribed for by retail Investors.
New Issues can be done without underwriting for a smaller fee, if demand is expected to be high. Investment Bankers normally charge a much larger fee for underwriting risk (i.e. the risk they will end up with not taken up shares).
In this case, of the £150 million raised, £75 million was firmly taken up by Sir Roger. Of the remaining £75 million required, £33 million was taken up by retail investors. Of the remaining £42 million, Sir Roger picked up £24 million.
So £18 million was picked up by Institutional Investors. This is the overhang that will need to be offloaded before the sp picks up.
