Rox, Castle, and everyone else. A serious post.
Please, a word of caution. Putting too much into anything, however undervalued in your opinion, is extremely unwise. Particularly in to Retail. I speak from personal experience.
A decade ago, I chased HMV to its grave and ended up devastating my Portfolio in the process. I won't mention numbers, but if I did you would be shocked. Fortunately, my wife was a brick about the whole thing and merely shrugged her shoulder saying "These things happen".
Thankfully in 2016, several lucky calls -
1. Getting into Mining stocks in April 2016,
2. Cashing out the non Dollar earners on Brexit Referendum day, Jumping back in when prices crashed on R+1 day, while my dollar earners jumped, and
3. Holding my nerve when Trump surprisingly won
resulted in my Portfolio jumping a 100% that year, making back the HMV losses multiple times.
I just had to say this because I have read many posts over the past year from people saying they have "topped up"... "loaded up"... "gone all in"... "unbeatable value" etc etc.
I have learnt the hard way not to be flippant or light when it comes to chasing a stock. I keep each holding within manageable limits on the assumption that - no matter how sound or undervalued - if it goes belly up, the result will be painful, but not disastrous.
