But one thing is clear (I think) I can't rely on divis due at the end of this month to fund take up of the Open Offer.

To save me going through several hundred posts, can someone please summarise for me (assuming it has been announced) the dates for the Open Offer?
Specifically:
- The deadline for acceptance of allocation.
- Date payment is due.
Or, the date on which the schedule will be announced.

Gra2am... don't worry, your shares will be quoted at 15 times. So if @15p say (I'm ignoring post issue adjustment) the price for each of your 4977 shares will be 15x15 = £2.25p

Call me a smartass... (go on, I dare you)... but I did predict 18 - 20p yesterday morning, when prices north of 40p were being bandied about....

After the transaction works out at c. 20p. (a 50% uplift). Anything more will be down to change in sentiment due to new Shareholder, Chairman, better balance sheet.

It sounds very much to me like the BOD were playing poker, and the Private Equity bidders folded their hand and walked away. Bid started low, BOD said no. They came back with more, the BOD said no. Maybe the BOD would have said yes at 50p. Who knows?

Let's not torture ourselves too much. Whatever will be will be. It'll be a long haul. Let's thank our stars the threat of Bankruptcy (if it ever was a real one) is averted for now.

It is as I suspected, reading between the lines. He'll take up some of the slack in the Rights Issue with c£40 million.

Pianista.. it could be £ 75million from him + £75 million from other shareholders. Or a different combination. I'm just trying to be "cautious". I saw figures north of 40p being quoted earlier (not that I would complain in the slightest if proven wrong!)

Let's wait for the announcement. And keep our fingers crossed he doesn't have a change of mind over the weekend!

To be honest Pedro, I agree with you. The change in sentiment, the new Chairman, the Closing out of shorts, the presence of a significant shareholder, and the eaasing of funding worries will definitely see this well above 16.75p he is paying for his 20% share, in my opinion.
Personally, I'd expect at least 18 - 20p at opening.

Great stuff (I think). Here are my back of the envelope calculations:
Current Market Value: £150 million.
Market Valuation after Investment: £300 million
He is paying "up to" £100million for 20%. Let's say he puts in £75 million for 20% of a £300 millionCompany - i.e. £60 million.
That's a premium of 75/60 = 25%
So we could see a 25% uplift in the sp = 13.5 x 1.25 = 16.75p.
Not sure how all these fancy numbers below are being bandied about. Or am I missing something?

Very encouraging that the majority business (Insurance) has had a "robust" start to 2020, and net debt will be dragged well below £100 million through sales.

Well Blondie.. "Events, dear boy, events"... US off 4%, biggest fall in it's history. FTSE Futures off 3.5%. Not so "clownish" after all, my comment, was it?
