Shorts have now decreased from 4 to 2 and 2.25 % to1.35% in fact it could be settling of the shorts that is sending the price higher.

I don't subscribe to to the premium service but any news that drops the price by 37p 9,6% should be issued through the RNS Service for the benefit of all shareholders.

Controversial UK government aspirations to replace gas boilers in some homes with a hydrogen-based alternative are likely to be scrapped, Grant Shapps, the energy minister, has indicated.

Shapps said he believed hydrogen would form part of Britain’s overall energy mix but predicted it was “less likely” that the gas would be routinely piped into people’s homes, as concerns grow about cost, safety and perpetuating a reliance on fossil fuels.

Trials have been underway as part of a government move to phase out natural gas boilers by 2035 amid a broader effort to decarbonise domestic heating, which accounts for about 17% of the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions

Having an established Cameroon oil & gas producer as a operator/partner with FSPO vessels in the area must have many advantages.
If I remember correctly one of the options was to use the LING Plant on Bioko Island but I don't think the Cameroon Government were to enthusiastic about it. I think at one stage Cameroon government held talks with the New Guinea government but I don't know what the outcome was.
If their was a disagreement then the fact that Perenco has its own infrastructure all within Cameroon must be a huge bonus with alterative and more cost effected options to consider.
We don't know what Perenco paid for the New Age stake but Oil & Gas prices being what the are I can't see them sitting on it for to long.

The only caveat I would like to add to the above post is that with volumes being so low it leaves the SP open to manipulation for a P & D, so hopefully any increase in Volumes and SP will be accompanied with news.

Present trading seems to indicate PI's doing the trading.
The next vote of confidence will be when the big boys join the party, which should be made apparent with a rise in volumes and SP.

Active in Cameroon since 1993, Perenco operates in the Rio del Rey and Douala basins, with its production last year averaging about 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Etinde lies at least 20 kilometres southeast of Perenco’s producing fields in the Rio del Ray basin and some 160 kilometres northwest of its Hilli Episeyo FLNG facility which it charters from Golar LNG.

Will Perenco be satisfied to have an equal share of Entinde with Lukoil while it is operator and will probably be using some of its own infrastructure.?
It has several wells in the same basin and a line going down to Kribi offshore LING Plant, I would imagine they would want full control of the project with a bigger share of the voting rights which could make BLVN'S 25% attractive to Perenco or even Lukoil.
