you too Wimbo, I want to be sensitive to those who feel a bit frazzled. We all have different personal circumstances. But I have to say I am extremely excited at this point in KIBO's history. It seems obvious that the delay in the PPA announcement is down to a lot more than the implementation of the MOU for 300 megawatts. Complicated though that may be (or have been ) its not something which would have caused such a large overshoot (potentially now till the end of June). The snippets we have coming thro' such as they are seem to signal that all remains on course so the delay is not in my opinion for bad reasons. We are in my opinion therefor left with the strong possibility as I think Mike Mike and others have already alluded to that LC is having to reset his sights to deal with a monster power plant with consequential effects on permissions funders etc. If so no wonder he is getting little sleep. Also no wonder his lips must remain sealed. Even the most panicky among us will surely concede that the above is a strong possibility so can I suggest that a period of robust defence of our communal investment would not be a bad thing ( always allowing for genuine worries to be expressed but please not in an aggressive way).

And as night follows day the PPA signing will be announced. And in moments of reflection as their cups runneth over the Kiboites will ask "Why did we give ourselves a hard time oh we of little faith?" Didn't the message from the mountain inform us that on 10th April work on key deliverables which would have included most importantly a tariff rate consistent with the principles espoused in the great MOU was going to be finalised? And wasn't the message written on the tablet of stone dated 10th April framed in such a way as to make it clear to us that the signing of the PPA was little more than a formality? And shouldn't it have been obvious to us that the message from the mountain on 17th April ought to have been interpreted in that context? If we had had the faith of our brothers in NCCL who are convinced that everything is going to happen for them all at once tomorrow despite them having no MOU and not yet engaging with their government on PPA and specifically being warned in their own message from the mountain that it might not happen then verily our stocks of tranquillisers would not need replenishing. But for now let us eat drink and be merry. For we have a window of opportunity of a couple of days before we need to start worrying about Financial Closure. All imo of course.

However a temporary license will probably unblock the PPA and let funding discussions proceed conditional on permanance (and guess who'll be looking over the shoulder of the commission in this respect) all imo of course.

Your view is a valid one Drax but for me there are a large number of signs that the Tanzi government in its latest reincarnation at all levels especially the top is determined to be different.

Tenses can sometimes be lost in translation but it looks like certain licenses which have been analysed are going to be granted on a temporary basis after payments have been invited and have commenced. It shows the mining commission (newly appointed of course) are determined not to let the grass grow under their feet and rather than brook further delays may issue temporary grants to unblock things pending full analysis of the licenses. The government are on the move.

Its good to be realistic bc142. I think that from the perspective of the torturous road we have come the MCPP is definitely nearly there. That having been said I suspect that at the start of every week until the week the PPA finally lands folks will be understandably expressing their frustration. Its nice that we are beginning to discuss Bots more. I know you have expressed the view that Bots has lessened the share price impact of the MCPP when it comes but what if in the next week or two or three encouraging progress is made there and on the back of that the PPA comes along and then in share price terms one project continually feeds the other. I'm not taking issue with either of you JD or O&W but wouldn't what will no doubt be an extremely detailed MOU among many other things likely agree the appropriate IRR. Is this not one of the major reasons for the MOU in the first place. Of course even assuming this to be the case no doubt there is room for a great deal of discussion about what rate of PPA would result in the desired IRR? Only speculation but we know the MOU provides a framework within which the parties will be working so its not a free for all.

hi Geordie Its very useful for us all to be following other coal to power projects in order to put our own ones into context. Also someone made a point that diverging views are not exactly welcomed on the NCCL board at the moment. If you thought we had Board police............ Bottom line we are all investors trying to help each other not part of a KIBO tribe!

The last conditional JDA which NCCL had envisaged the possibility of spending another 20 mill to get to financial close. Cant imagine it would be much different now. Its weird the way AIM (ie us I suppose) values companies. KIBO imo grossly undervalued. Sentiment is all on AIM.

What a dysfunctional lot we are. The moaners are irritated by the clappers the clappers are irritated by the moaners and the referees are pulling their hair out trying to keep the peace. And in the background what is this I see. The share price has risen from its slumber shaken itself off and begun its inexorable journey upwards in anticipation of what may be the biggest RNS in KIBO history (all imo of course). That's the good news. The bad news is that the board will then descend into familiar chaos in the run up to financial close. Further good news may be that by then we will perhaps be too rich to care.

Hey Global Its normally you who makes a comment on my Saturday Morning post but this time I'll break with tradition and reverse the scenario. Let me paint what I think is a picture consistent with the known facts. This is not my own work I defer to sonic wimbo yaki and other wonderful (and under appreciated) researchers here. Firstly we are not dealing with a government leader who wants to drag his heels. We know this and if his colleagues didn't they do now. One of the things Magafuli is prioritising is the industrialisation of Tanzania. Progress on that front will ensure the survival of his government in the short term and his legacy in the long term. A hugely complicated ESIA which could have been problematic is under our belt. Tanesco have been the subject of huge upheavals in the last few months including a root and branch upheaval of personnel and very recently a complete change of location.Government Ministers have been renewed. The Commission in charge of Mining which had been in stasis has just had a complete new set of personnel appointed to it. Any analysis of the situation which involves the government dragging its heels for the sake of it is in my submission not credible. The deadline of end of March was never going to be met was it.Its existence however was and remains relevent in that it shaws willingness on the part of all parties to proceed as quickly as possible. The PPA is i would have thought conditional on their being a mining license which is conditional on there being someone in post to grant it (as there is now). The granting of the special mining license and the PPA are both probably conditional on there being assurances re funding. These giving of these assurances is probably not a problem following on from the MOU. Its interesting to speculate following on from Wimbos latest find whether or not another obstacle to the PPA has been removed by the latest progress in respect of the power line which will carry our electricity and the confirmation that it will be sufficient to potentially among other things export power. This factor may well inform whether or not a bigger power station is built from the outset as well as bringing further welcome flexibility to PPA negotiations. You cant say that any investment is without an element of risk. Its my opinion though that anyone who asserts that KIBO is high risk as opposed to a safe haven for their money is simply under researched. And Global no one is playing games...... Well maybe just one person this morning.
