I don't think we have to worry about Tanesco and KIBO turning up at different parties whatever the nature of the clarification to be received. As has been said LC has played a blinder here. There seems to be no coal to power project more attractive and more advanced than ours. In fact of course Tanesco already are intimately aware of the details of it. Thats no doubt the reason why LC is not concerned even if its envisaged that MCPP is to be part of the tender process. One thing that todays announcement has done is to remove any lingering doubt there may have been that the reason for any government heel dragging was an aversion to the notion of IPPs.

I have already referred to reasons why underlings may be loth to make decisions under the new regime meaning that undue responsibility to move things forward is lumped onto ministers and ultimately Maga.
Maga is not "The Messiah" but neither in African politics terms is he a "very naughty boy". He is obviously serious about rooting out corruption and seems to get as frustrated as we do about lack of progress on various fronts.
However when he and his ministers get their hands on our project thats when we move.
When his appointees at Tanesco liased with his new Attorney General thats when we got our MOU (an amazing achievement by the way).
The mining Commission has been totally revamped and retrained more recently so further delays were in hindsight unavoidable but now the mining minister has her paws all over our SML and when the cabinet finally get a look at it I am convinced the right decision will be made.
As for our PPA thats built on our MOU. The "Gang of Forty" will have done the hard lifting and re your concerns mikemike I reckon Tanesco's top lawyers will have no difficulty explaining the implications if approval by the Attorney General or wider is required.

There has been in the past much talk about the states own attempts to get power production up and running.
I note that according to the MD of this particular organisation it is cash strapped and most of its projects are dwindling.

In my opinion the aggressive deadline given by the minister in August to the Mining Commission must be very imminent if not already expired. Its likely therefor imo that we’re at cabinet level now.
So in my uneducated opinion (i’m not clever enuf to understand what Lurker’s gdtting at) better than 50% chance of SML this week. This not to include all the non Tanzanian goodies bubbling away!!

I don't agree with your respective takes on the situation.
As I said in my last post the minister and the Commission have both reiterated very recently that the SML'S have priority (Peak Resources Website).
I know talk is cheap but there is every reason why there should have been various admin hurdles put up (and surmounted) over the last year for EVERY player (not just us).
The officials know that under the new regime unlike the old they can be made personally liable for negligence or worse.
Its not a case of anything goes any more.
But there obviously is some urgency being shown.
So I suppose we will bellyache if it makes us feel better (not that will do us or anyone else a blind bit of good).
Patience is the only option.

Focus on the most relevant facts
We know from information in the public domain that in august the minister gave the mining commission a challenging deadline for producing their recomendations on the SML’s for cabinet approval. Anything else is just noise.
