Not an expert but they are not the same. For HE1 they are sampling the mud (mud is specifically always circulated as part of drilling so the material they have to sample from is the mud). This means they cans see elevated HE1 shows (higher than normal background levels). I'm not sure if this type of sampling can deliver any more quantitative data than that.
Wireline is far more precise science and will happen after the well is completed and cased. I believe they can literally perforate the casing to sample the make up of gases at different depths, quality, availability etc.
