It was a very strong interview. I don't know why people put faith in the upbeat/downbeat/smiley/not smiley nature of these things. Everything was laid out very clearly. In fact she seemed business like and not downbeat at all. She knows investors have had a disappointing day but to be frank anything less than 'discovery' on the hooter was going to do that.

Valid reasons to case and come back to Tai3 later.

Remember this next drill has been moved slightly from the original location. Lorna explained that they have already started getting the civils done for that and they already had the civils team on site working on the previous well location. Movement of the drill is down to new information learned from Tai3 so makes complete sense.

I was also very encouraged by Lorna assessment of the helium finds in Tai 3 and the prognosis that the helium will likelyincrease by going deeper (they know exactly what geology they are breaking into next, hence this makes total sense).

We don't know yet. They will have to announce if they can't complete the drill plan.

It's surely almost certain they will do the usual proactive interview today.

Whilst many have have a guess at whether or not they will still have funds for the next drill.... we actually don't know yet.

It was fully funded. Delays during first drill may have overrun the cost plan. But we do not know yet.

To the next drill site is at least partly down to trying to get a second drill done ASAP within current funding. But we won’t know until they tell us.

Rubbish. The only way your logic can work is if they don’t drill. Don’t try. Raise funds and then don’t drill because unless it’s perfect every time you can’t cope and need to throw your toys out. If you are not invested go fluff somewhere else and if you are perhaps ask yourself if this is for you.

Big baby conspiracy theories about the company lying and pretending to plan for forward exploration is rubbish. Suspect you know it or you are too fragile to cope.

Sorry but this thread heading and initial post is quite stupid.

Expect we will get an interview to explain and interesting times but accusing them of lying is just ignorant. They are being very open and explaining the reasons for the impact on strategy.

IMHO the potential prospect is hugely de risked based on the Tai3 data. Onwards.

They could divert the well at a shallower depth and try to run through to TD a few 10s of meters away from the current issue. It isn’t insurmountable but operations at these depths are challenging. Hence they need to work up a plan and in the meantime get the rig to the next location where the well will be shallower and targeting a learned objective based on what they now know.

People want jam today and I would too but in reality it takes longer. Chance of success is now far higher, based on what they have found at Tai3.

Actually the working hypothesis’s is that they potentially do have a commercial discovery at greater depth.

From a standing start today Tai3 has more potential as a,discovery than it ever has. It’s a process. Would have been fantastic to have more certainty but this more nuanced position was always likely since they had to suspend the drill ahead of breaking though the final layer of geology.

They need a different drill approach to drill deeper at Tai1. So needs time to decide how to approach it. It is far from a duster.

There is now an opportunity to further prove the prospect with another shallower well. It sounds completely sensible to me. No reason to think they can’t drill that second well this year if they can fix the rough neck.

Most of us are focussed on the outcome of THIS funding cycle. If there is a discovery at Tai1, all of this conjecture will be meaningless.

Imagine the commercial risk of telling the market that they are about to buy a rig on the Friday before contracts are signed. How does that look from the sellers perspective?

I can think of way more reasons why things played out the way they did that don't need a conspiracy theory to explain them.
