We can be certain that the trading statement is prepared and ready to release. My guess is that the figures are not particularly good so what better way to offset that disappointment with an announcement that the sale of Findel Education has been approved by the UK Competition and Markets Authority ?

Yes Columbo, last year our trading statement was released on the 25th January. Frankly, today isn’t a good day to release given the turmoil in the stock market. I am hoping that the statement release is being delayed to coincide with the sale of a Findel Education being declared unconditional. Maybe too much to hope for though.

All very exciting and ground breaking but the first reactor isn’t due to open until 2029. I believe in investing for the future but that is too far distant for me. I could be dead by then.

There is more than five weeks until the final results. We are all looking for an advantageous entry point but the only way to reverse this terrible decline is for the board to announce something positive. This is very unlikely to happen before the final results so the question is how far will the share price fall before the 28th February 2020. My guess is the market will continue to mark the value of this company down until otherwise advised. I sold my shares at 710 pence on the 10th December, not realising how low this would go. I would like to buy back in but not until someone in the know says something honestly positive. Trying to guess an entry point is a mugs game.

As the share price reaches another multi year low, is Mr East looking to pave his way out of RR by accepting a role back in the semi conductor industry ?

I’m not seeing your buy signal Steve305. Since Christmas, the share price has dropped on thirteen of the eighteen trading days. Why buy now ?

Goldman Sachs has just reiterated its conviction buy opinion and raised its target price to 1181 pence from 1143 pence. With the greatest respect, I would prefer to listen to their opinion than yours steve305. Good luck with your investment decisions.

Down significantly today following a weak trading statement. Maybe our half year results were not as ordinary as I had previously suggested.

Yes, a very convincing 99.96 per cent of those who voted were in favour of the disposal. The trading statement could have been released today to add to the positive result of the general meeting. Our half year results were very ordinary compared to the recent past, let’s hope that Black Friday and Christmas trading has improved our revenue and PBT.

The circular to shareholders and notice of the general meeting states that the expected completion date of the disposal of Findel Education, subject to conditions being satisfied or waived is April 2020, the longstop date is 30 September 2020.

Any thoughts on how long it will take to obtain this approval ? I am hoping that when the disposal of Findel Education becomes unconditional, our share price will go again.

Hello Ejackson, I used to read the Edison reports and view the share price valuation with much scepticism. Not any more. Now that we have conditionally agreed a sale of Findel Education, our much weaker brand, at 10.3 times EBITDA, we have living proof that Studio Group PLC is now definitely worth at least the valuation placed on the company by Edison. I just can’t see what it will take, short of an actual offer for the whole business to ramp our share price up to what we are now clearly worth. I certainly cannot see Sports Direct offering us anywhere near this figure to acquire the remainder of the business. Had SPD offered us 300 pence a share last April the outcome might have been entirely different.

You should be sitting on our board Columbo as the spokes person for shareholders. Your great idea simply won’t happen though unfortunately as our pension pot and core debt will take priority. You would get my vote for sure.

Curious announcement. Schroders have reduced back to where they were before the half yearly report. They were 18.974 per cent and increased to 19.268 per cent, only to reduce again back to 18.971 per cent. If the outlook is so bright why reduce ? Why also did none of the directors buy more ?

That is a fact Grayling, not an opinion. If you had taken the trouble to look at my opinion on that particular post, it was “no opinion”.
You have clearly known for a while now that RR has been in decline, in fact you yourself suggested not long ago that the share price could sink below £6. Furthermore you have openly admitted that the dividend is derisory. I would suggest therefore that your continuing to hold this share is the irrational decision. Good luck.

.....or anyone else Ejackson, who is hopefully going to work out that we are extremely good value at £2.34 per share. It may take a while but eventually the penny will drop.
