Hi Arsenal 17, it is no secret that you don’t agree with most of the posters on this board, particularly Grayling. But I do think you should temper your complete loyalty and defence of RR with some realism. Grayling recently opined that our share price was heading for the low seven hundreds without significant good news, and that prediction was spot on. That is the type of realistic posting I can appreciate and learn from. Comments based on blind loyalty are not always so accurate.
The fact is that a series of huge errors within the company have cost over £1bn to correct. Primarily those errors are as a result of insufficient testing and insufficient research into the metals used to cope with the continuous stress that each engine was designed to withstand.
Why did these problems occur in the first place ? Cost cutting ? Insufficient research ? Who knows ? The fact is, it has occurred. I only hope that RR has finally got to grips with these various different fundamental issues.
I am sure you will immediately jump to the defence of RR but the fact remains that we as shareholders have suffered financially as a result of these ongoing problems. There is no excuse for these engine failures as RR has been making aero engines for longer than most.
I am happy to be a shareholder of RR as I believe we have a good CEO in Mr East and part of being a shareholder is sharing valued opinions of the immediate future of the business. You are a valued poster Arsenal 17 but sometimes you need to change the record.
