The recent big WSJ article on lab meat was quite bearish and seems to have knocked sentiment in the sector again.

As predicted, HFEL is continuing to slump. A close below the 250p level is a bearish sign here, and the charts suggest it may be ready to retest the 240p recent low.

UK inflation is almost certainly going to drop to 7-8% in the next monthly reading for April 2023.

Have been in and out of the EU ~15 times since Xmas, by plane, train and ferry, and not experienced one single delay due to border control. In the real world, EU-UK border control is now *faster*, because the EU has setup a *dedicated* UK lane. The UK (effectively) has a VIP channel for its passports. They don't like to promote that benefit...

Those hysterical headlines and photos for queues you see in the Daily Star or Mirror at peak-holiday times are almost always caused by French strikes or go-slows, or by UK deliberate mis-planning from the borders "blob" to maximize chaos and try to overthrow the elected Tory govt.

In short, UK passenger travel to the EU has overwhelmingly got better (not worse) since Brexit!

In Paris at the moment, and it is striking to see how much better-dressed the everyday French people are than almost everywhere else on the planet. Women and men really do make an effort to look good, always thinking about what they wear. They don't just throw on joggers and a Superdry jacket from the sale. One can see why LVMH is so successful.

As predicted, last year, it's great to see the UK housing market staying strong. Despite endless hysteria, the UK economy is in good shape. House prices will not see a crash. Too many people are addicted to the buzz of rising prices. Nobody wants to budge on price and lose out.
