Barclays delivered weak margins for 2022, while Natwest is predicting weak margins for 2023.

LLOY is going to need some strong forward guidance, to stop the shareprice sinking back down into the 40s.

The CEO's 2023 profit guidance today was terrible, due to high (inflation) costs. Market sentiment has turned negative. Wouldn’t be a surprise to see this back at 250p.

CNA has rocketed since most of its major (retail) rivals went kaput during Covid in 2020-22, such as Bulb and Avro.

The question now in 2023-25 is whether CNA can swerve a Tory windfall tax or Labour re-nationalization.

Great results from Centrica. But it puts them right in the crosshairs of the hard-Left ultras. Wouldn't be a surprise to see a big Tory windfall tax in 2023 / 2024, or renationalization by Labour in 2025.

Incredible to see Barclays' marcap now at only £25b... an astonishing -99% smaller than Apple!

There were loads of posts on Lloyds this morning. Early birds already read the worm.

Barclays' results were mixed, traders sell on news, take profits after a good run-up, while dropping inflation points to lower rates and less future profit for Lloyds, hence the LLOY dip.

Yes, looks like there may well be some voting ahead.

Sturgeon and Salmond oversaw the near-total collapse of the Scottish oil, gas and banking industries, they lost Scotland's biggest vote in history by a huge margin, while their pipedreams of independence are now gone forever. They have absolutely nothing to crow about. It's one of the most disastrous failures in political history.

Salmond has too much history. He has no chance.

With ScotRef now fading away, a full EU deal on the cards, a big trade deal with Italy, no UK recession, and the FTSE soaring to record highs every few days, 2023 is off to a cracking start.

UK GDP grew +4% in 2022 and it is the fastest-growing economy in the entire global G7. For the second year in a row. The (dominant) services sector soared +6% in 2022.

Historic trade deal this week with Italy, the world's 8th largest economy.

It follows recent deals with Japan, Australia and others.

FTSE 100 today at yet another record all-time high.

Lol. The UK is England + Scotland + Wales + NI. Not just England. And it employs 1.7 million staff. More than the entire populations of over 50 countries and states on the entire planet. Let that number sink in...

The UK has the 2nd-lowest state debt in the entire global G7. UK debt is very affordable and very well managed. The UK is the only major nation on all of planet Earth never to have defaulted on its national debt in the past 1,000 years.

It is time to stop the hysteria.
