George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
Keeping everything crossed here for some good news.It just makes total sense to harness this technology.
Enormous growth in renewables must include some predictable power. Hugh battery capability will come from old EV cars I believe and we are seeing hydrogen starting to play a global role in energy storage.
Im no engineer but on mass production this must be cost comparable with wind and you know when the power is coming.
Just read some articles on plug power ...24 cents to 24 dollars ..
You have to have a disruptive technology. A management team that can sell an idea to raise capital.
Most importantly a market in front of you.
Waste must be controlled .
Energy must be cleaner and backed up by BASE LOAD.
Can Atlantis pull it off. Its an incredible time period for them. They need some luck but the markets they are adressing will be enormous.
fingers crossed.
How does the price of electricity compare with off shore wind ?
Sorry if this is has been stated before. Trying to get my head around it.
Only really looked at the power station conversion so its exciting looking at the full picture.
Incredible it isn't given the same priority as wind.
Interesting today to read in the Times today, Gresham raising up to 263 million pounds for new projects. They store electricity in batteries when the power is cheap and sell it back to the grid during peak time.
Lots of talk about using old car batteries when they are no longer good enough for EV cars in the future.
I wonder where tidal might fit into that .
Huge market .
Thank you for anyones time in advance .
I must read that research bit again
could some one break down this number please?
Thank you .
The company has also entered into a memorandum of understanding with two partners, COBRA and Scott Brothers Enterprises, to take forward a variant of the abandoned Billingham project. The plan is to develop a 25 MWe plant capable of processing 200 000 tonnes each year of fuel derived from municipal waste, worth some £150 million to £180 million.
Sorry my reference to idiots was the fact they never would have , could have planted that number it was just a tit for tac number to outdo the conservatives promise . All parties should prioritise the rewinding in many parts of this country .
Any way , a little off topic.
Let’s hope our investment goes towards a positive change
This s a wonderful product.I am a keen tree planter and pick up old plastic tree protectors from various old council jobs. They are as good as new even after 5 years , showing you just what a crime it is to simply not retrieve them for reuse.
The tragic state of affairs these days is its cheaper to buy them new rather than pay people to collect them .
Look on any new road , you will see thousands of them.Example new A14 road in Cambridgeshire they have planted 668,000 trees.
The world has pledged to plant tress to capture carbon.Remember labours promise of 2 billion pre election (idiots).
I hope they contact the Woodland Trust who i would recommend supporting for those struggling with a present for someone.Buy a tree, its a lovely idea.
They are aiming to plant 50 million .
Just bought my first tranche of shares 1.63.Good luck to us.
This government didn’t invest in SGN as soon as it saw the results . They could have fully funded and pushed this , and other possible treatments and take an equity stake to protect tax payers funds . The money they have wasted . It’s been so obvious an effective treatment will go an enormous way in helping people get back to normality .
Absolute travesty of leadership .
What a **** show .
CAN ANYONE SUGGEST A REALLY GOOD PRESENTATION TO GET MY HEAD AROUND THIS SHARE.I HAVE A POSITION BUT MOST OF THE STUFF I READ IS OVER MY HEAD. THANK YOU FOR ANY TIME IN ADVANCE
What is the process for application please . Does our broker call us . I don’t think they do,?
Any clue as to what happens with IG shares
Thank you for any help
exactly, silly Boris is missing the base element of our grid and the need for power when the wind isn't blowing, thus the future investments in hydrogen and the talk of old EV batteries being used for storage .
Gresham house energy storage fund do this i believe and , again looking at it from a very uneducated position, tidal must be better as you know what you are getting and when. If EV cars really are going to take on the world , there just isn't the capacity in the grid so... projects like Hinkley point and Uskmouth are going to be essential . As stated, its such a shame the decision in Wales can't be decided on a national level where savings in land fill and incineration can be included in the emissions output.Lets hope common sense wins although I do understand local concerns.
Does anyone know what the limit of turbines is at Maygen. Could you literally put hundreds of turbines in? So much easier on the eye than wind, but of course its very isolated.
Enjoying the posts, thank you everyone. So nice to see everyone being positive , polite and open minded.
For those that doubt the demand for the water tests.
New approaches are in the works that promise to pull back the curtains on the coronavirus, letting people know in real time how much the virus is circulating in their community and whether they themselves are infected. Some methods are working in the background. For example, at the University of Arizona, researchers are testing the sewage flowing out of numerous dorms to detect signs of infection among unsuspecting undergrads. In many cases, evidence of infection is secreted in stool even before someone develops symptoms.
Other efforts are going to take more work, both from the government and from individuals. Lateral flow, an approach that uses the same technology as a pregnancy test, is now reaching the market. Abbott Laboratories introduced Binax NOW, a disposable $5 test that takes just 15 minutes to get results. The company is making 50 million a month, and the U.S. government has cornered the market. But that’s not nearly enough.
I have sent off the early results to a few scientists , one after seeing him on BBC saying there are no significant treatments yet. They just reply saying the trail is too small and has to done in much larger numbers . As frustrating as it is you can’t ignore their replies . Synairgen need to get a proper larger trail organised , hopefully with a large partner in my ( uneducated view) . This will get us on the map, speed up manufacturing and push the compassionate care side of the treatment . Of course management will be keen to Get this moving but I hope they are not trying to go it completely alone as I think we are getting left behind , large pharma rule the ways these things are done . Slightly controversial but I believe they block many small companies path to new drugs . This can include media blocks and shorting certain stocks .Any tie up and this will still match most of our price targets .
Their market cap is still very small for such a promising treatment but without more data it’s approval will not happen .
Great posts and I think we have it covered. Tough decision and the local population will be concerned. The fact that it will mean fewer emissions and landfill on a national level will not influence the process which is a shame. ( no one will want it on their doorstep, despite having put up with coal for many years )
The recent figures on tidal were very impressive and Maygen surely has the potential for many many turbines with sea flow of 11 MPH.
I wish I understood more, but surely that could become as big as one of the major offshore wind projects resulting in huge amounts of electricity.?
I will be holding my position for many years and am excited by opportunities the Singapore office can find in the far east.
The grid will have to find large amounts of base power very soon , especially regarding EV,s. Wind and solar will not do it alone and it doesn't look like any new nuclear projects are going to start.
It really might be become a necessity for the power grid.
You are right we are way off the radar which is why I hoping for a tie up with a large pharma to conduct a significant trail that the world will be aware of . Compassionate treatment could still be used and most importantly time to market will happen sooner . Plus just about every fund / investor will want a bit of Synairgen . Good luck all
The trail numbers were not big enough to get any kind of approval without more data.
So, are we looking for a big pharma tie-up for a phase 3?
Off-side here like many newcomers. The science looks compelling but there is not enough data according to people I consider in the know. Wonder what we are expecting from the BOD
Thank you
I think your time scale is correct. Even if we are lucky enough to get rid of COVID (which is unlikely) the world is set for testing for other ailments for the next generation. Very sad, but this is now the world we live in
