You need the SML to get. a PPA but you dont need a PPA to get an SML ... over simplifying a bit but the point is if I was the govt why wouldn’t I issue the SML and take the revenue ... it’s KIBOs issue if they can’t use it fully (ie sell the coal).

On which case why was the SML set as recommended for approval. It could have been put on hold at that point. It’s revenue for the govt ... I don’t think the two will be linked.

Boff you need to rain it on and stop attacking anyone that continues to hold a positive view of their investment. We all know you think this a gamble and LC should be replaced a large number of others including Sepco think different and based on a more rational assessment of what’s been achieved to date in what are admittedly trying circumstances with TG and TANESCO. Drax we can all dish out a bit of banter and cross the line and be a little abusive at times but posters start making wild and unfounded accusations then its bound to be reported - weekend or not.

And we all now ‘soon’ is a long time according to KIBO rns’s ....

Three CtP projects with a green light and backed by a SDA with Sepco and the current GE agreement with some small energy projects on the side - that will put an entirely different lense on KIBO. Can LC pull it off?

Absolutely don’t disagree it’s shocking how the govt has let this happen. Imagine the outcry here if the daily telegraph got it wrong on their website. The govt would fall. It’s a complete non issue as far as kibo is concerned and I’d rather the govt fixed the tender / licence application process than monitoring dates on websites

Yes there website is displaying the wrong date if you view it on a PC. Couldn’t see it on the mobile. Article date is correct. Probably fake news then ....... it’s just an error on their website. If it bothers you I’d drop them a line but hardly think it means the article is not real

tbh Krispy I thought it was a good update and well timed (ie before the deadline) if the actual content was disappointing (ie not first metal).

I think if anyone started articulating their thoughts on timescales Boff they'd be accused of clapping. However, the RNS gives the following

The procurement process and status is outlined below:

"Stage 1: Submission of a TQD, in response to RFQ, by 19 October 2018 followed by RFQ pre-qualification notification to successful applicants"

Its not uncommon in an RFQ there would be a date by which applicants can expect a response. If there was one we haven't been told it and if we were would we expect Tanesco to meet it? However, I suspect the challenge here is that Tanesco would not have know how many responses to expect as it was open ended and not sent to a list of potential respondents

"A definitive date for completion of Stage 1 is expected from TANESCO before the end of 2018."

Not much to go on. So stage 1 should be complete by end of the year? Stage 2 will depend on how many they take forward. I still think though this has been or will be an exercise to rule out a load of projects and focus on those like KIBO that are much better placed to proceed and be successful.
