The problem we have is that common sense decisions and political decisions are often not aligned. At this precise moment it makes total sense to use the coal resource that Phulbari has to offer to reduce costs and to increase the amount of energy for both people and businesses and the likely truth is that in 5, 10 or 20 years that won’t be the case because renewables will be on the march. I believe it really is now or never. I believe Nasrul Hamid sees it that way too.

Hopefully in the next weeks we will get our answer. Until then the best policy is to sit tight.

Also Thursday is the last working day of the week in Bangladesh followed by the religious day Friday... Maybe that helps explain why Thursdays can be busy followed by a flat Friday

Sadly in that it wasn't a genuine trade / buy. That's at least 3 large trades this week that have been published late and cancelled later still... If you were cynical you could think they are a deliberate attempt to mislead

I think GCM deserve a decent return on their investment, work and patience. The question is will Hasina allow that to happen? I don’t think she likes the idea of a load of ageing brits sat in front of their computers for up to 20 years making a (small) fortune from a Bangladesh resource

Truth is nobody knows. With the GL I think £100m is very conservative when you consider the value of the project

They are totally dependent on the Chinese for this and many other projects. The Chinese have energy, expertise and money

They can’t control a runaway train….

10x to 20x current price on the GL imo. For this company to be worth only £16m with the licence it holds is a joke, but maybe a result of the many historical false dawns

Definitely a case of smoke and mirrors from the MM’s publishing late transactions to create confusion (was it a buy or sell) and meaningless tiny trades to get the price where they want it to be…

Are we sure they’re finished with the subscription shares?

Maybe they wait for days like this to sell chunks of shares when the market gets excited (sometimes on the perception of good news) and other people see it on the risers list and pile in. Add the day traders into the mix sitting there waiting for days like this and it’s not surprising that every so often a little boom followed by a correction occurs.

IMO the only thing that will really make this move is news. The likelihood is that news is coming and when it does the holders should hopefully be rewarded for their patience. GLA
