I believe the idea was at least floated that there should be water transmission pipes laid under or by HS2 to carry water from the water/rain rich North to the South where there are often drought warnings and hosepipe bans. I guess it is too much to expect some joined up thinking where power transmission could also be part of the groundworks taking advantage of the fact that the ground will be dug up anyway. Instead no doubt there is another multi-billion pound project to lay huge North<>South cables on a completely different route requiring twice the disruption and no doubt four times the capex.

I can see the case for continuing to pay for the power when not needed (not that I necessarily agree with it at the full rate) but not why the payment rate needs to be as much as 80% higher than what would have been paid for the power if taken.

To divert the power to resistor banks I assume only requires a command to be sent to the turbine management system electronically and a further command once power is required again. It's not like someone in a van has to race down to the turbine to turn an allen key 50 times to do the bypass. Cost of said bypass request would be minimal.

The resistor banks would be part of the original deployment design and I would assume some power would be diverted anyway if for example the wind is too strong for the demand level at that time.

Just sounds like another exploitative contract term that adds unnecessarily to consumer pricing.

Depends if you want to erode the capital or not. If you want to preserve it then you should be looking to yield 5% consistently which is very achievable.

The best way to work it out is to sketch out on paper what expenses you would have after retirement and add in some money to actually live and enjoy yourself (annual allowance for holidays, car replacement cost over 3-10 years whatever your normal replacement schedule is) etc. Then add 10% and multiply the figure by 20.

There are a number of calculators online that can give you a figure you need to live on, but of course adjustment is always necessary as no two people have the same level of bills and living expectations.

If you have all your investments in tax free wrappers then you are already much better off, if you have built up £1m in ISA value for example and invest it in 5% average yields then that gives £50k annually or £4,166 a month with no tax to pay.

As always don't take the advice of internet chatrooms as gospel and DYOR alongside a competent financial advisor (if you can find one!).

If as imac1 posted we could expect profits of $140m year from shallows and deeps then I would have thought dividends were a given. That's £107m give or take or around 5.8p a share. So even if only 50% was returned to shareholders that's worth 2.9p ongoing.

Sounds like a fantastic return to me on a current share price of 9.4p.

Let's not forget also that it is well known that people need to sell in January to pay tax bills and as with everything else in this corrupt market they will seek to take advantage of that by offering you under the odds to do so, no doubt more so the closer we get to the end of Jan.

SA politics is an often given excuse for the BMN share price not meeting it's potential. All I can say as a LTH is that the politics appear infinitely better than they were when I first invested. Hopefully JSE listing and direct access to SA investors will yield investments that reflect significant local SA excitement in the BMN story.

With regards to Lemur it has been long signposted that the strategy for this is to either float like Afritin or sell, I am sure this will be done at the most monetarily beneficial point in the process.

Just my view but I would like to see any funds raised returned to shareholders as it was previous dilution that allowed BMN to capture Lemur in the first place.

£3 - £3.50 remains my target, that's just to get me interested.

I agree confirmation of the flow test will be good, but in the meantime regardless of this the deep is flowing. The oil is still being sold and adding to the bottom line regardless. Even if they are flowing at a conservative average 1,000bpd for the full month of Jan that adds over half a million dollars to income.

It makes you wonder if we are the only ones buying and selling this share.

Deep flowing without incident expected to be at least 1,500bpd, monthly production up, sales price up, new drill sites prepared, one drilling without incident so far, everything looks good!

Absolutely. Once those VRFB contracts start flowing and regular rental income starts being booked, this has a multi-billion dollar valuation all over it.
