Re. chart and that long term trend, Lottie. Well, it certainly broke through on the intra-day. But it was only the tip, and only for a short time. Ooh, err! ;)

Stokey, for clarity, apres caffine, I was not suggesting it would qualify for funding. I was merely pointing out that the "client" for this contract, effectively the UK Gov., are one and the same as the ones guaranteeing the proposed loan. And NOT that this contract would qualify. BUT, it would be odd to award , or even give preferred bidder status, to such a contract if they thought that the company could not be in a position to fulfill it in the alotted time frame. They, the uk gov., would also likely to know when stage payments for the FFS would be rolling out. AND, if such payments would negate the need for the loan at all. So, the jury is still out, afaic, on this loan.

And yes in days gone by I would have been expecting, "other news", to follow.

Might have the resources, staffing levels and good experience in pontoon manufacture, Xenor. But we still have the same man at the top. The Falklands are still a British overseas territory, albeit a self-governing one. So is this efectivly another job from the UK government. To the tune of over half the expected loan ammount. So re they both the client and the guarantor of the loan?

As long as it's a SeaRose type further announcement and not one one further announcements that never happen. A multi-year contract, five times the Mcap, should have a good uplift here. Still, have that old war wound type of twinge though.

It wouldn't be hard to imagine that the whole takeover malarkey was done knowing that it would have held things up. Going by what he said about it stalling the contract singing. Regardless of if there was ever an actual commitment on the part of H&W to proceed with the takeover, it certainly held things up for a while. Time will tell if the delay causes any issues down the line.

I've corrected him before regarding your previous employment details before, H9. So he has been made aware of it previoously. Cheers LSE. If you look on you favourite vessel tracking site the D moorings seem to be just up and right of the entrance of the Belfast Dry Dock. Where the SeaRose parked up for a bit. D1S is where the Stena Forwarder is and D1N is where the MPI Adventure is currently moored. As that quay goes further north it goes passed the RSPB reserve to what looks like a large open area going up to Kinnager Jetty at the end. Found this about the site and some of the challenges it's faced. Even our old freinds DERA gets a mention. :)

Think that has always been the case regarding the Scottish "assets", Stokey. Something about The Highlands and Islands authority or some such. Not going to wade back through right now to get the proper term. :)

Note that it has also been changed to now include the SeaRose as a "Material Contract".

Adding it to the existing material contracts for the FFS, Cory Barges and the M55 motorway work that were previously in place. For some reason it does not include the latest ten barge Cory contract announced in November. Only the previous two contracts that were awarded in 2022 for 23 barges.

So, looking forward to what those over on ADHD FM have to say about that. :)

Question

Is this vessel really being sailed front Tahiti to Belfast? Is there any way to track her progress? Will shed really be up to the challenges of British waters, given where she was built? I recall that Condor Ferries brought their new fast ferry from Australia and it has never reliably coped with English Channel conditions!

....... the Atlantic Wolff will be sailing from Tahiti soon and you will be able to track her progress. The vessel is more than capable of operating in our waters

That must be the one I heard about. It was also mentioned by the Scilly councilor on their facebook page as well, at the time. If I was at home I could have poped down for a walk-about. See what the word is on the... quay.
