RE: Confluence of outcomes9 Jun 2024 16:27
Besides the timing of the JR outcome not being down to them, all the others are, or have become, just normal day to day, or ongoing stuff, imo. The only major decision is what, depending on the outcome, they intend to do with IM. Stick, twist or fold? It's not as if they haven't had the time to prepare something conclusive about the plan. Given all the, "ongoing conversations" to "make progress as planned." Be a shame if they let it all fall flat with a stock RNS saying, "Further announcements will be made by the Company in due course."
The results come out every year and have been expected at the end of June ever since last year. Okay, they were put out late on at least one occasion, but not sure how an election now could in any way alter last years figures, tbh. But it's normally down to the wire anyway and two weeks after the JR results.
The finance decision has been hanging like the sword of that fella Dan O'Clees for so long it could be included in any "confluence" in the past 18 months, tbh.
The decision on the Falklands project is , imo, way off. The preferred bidder status was just an enabler to start discussions on contract terms and timelines. It also allowed for invitations to tender for the land based sections of the project. They don't expect this project to be done until the end of 2027. So a few months before we start cutting steel.
The Scilly Ferries and the Atlantic Wolff is just another ongoing saga and a totally seperate affair. It's not going to be a driving factor in where the rest of the company is heading. Beside taking up a lot of the CEO's time and effort it could be ignored for all the good it's doing or will do.
Not sure about "cash being critical". That sounds like something straight from the shorting fellas on ADHDFM. And they have had that record on repeat for months. I agree that the longer all this goes on the more ongoing and existing projects get completed and paid for. On the UTV video you could see at least one nearly completed barge and the big dock gates bound for Plymouth. Not sure how having the Searose in the building dock effects getting stuff out of the fab halls and into the water. All quiet barge wise at Methil. Or have we just been preoccupied and not noticed? Cable barge must be also close to completion at Appledore along with the Quorn. That in turn might force the issue of the spare plastic piggy, the Atherstone. Dredging of the access channel this week bodes well for the movement of something out of there soon. Maybe even three things.
Yeah, lots going on. Expect the board to get frothy. :)
