Couldn't agree more Jack, I think the most significant information to be gleaned will be with respect to a possible asset sale with SOU continuing as explorer. If attendees start picking up these vibrations I'll be hugely concerned as we'll finally know that JP can't deliver the LE he promised two years ago. Any special dividend on the existing concession is likely to be paltry I fear as we'll urgently need funds to operate beyond TE-11. I also wouldn't expect to see it paid in 2019. So much depends on TE-10 so not despairing yet.

Could something in that department be about to follow hot on the heels of today's RNS? Lack of usual media is interesting perhaps waiting for the biggy? Obviously dreary pumpathon with Justin Waite will drop any minute now!

With a big step towards energy security at stake Morocco will surely want to push ahead with production and further exploration on our licence whatever happens in the world economy and will surely ease the process of our handover to a bigger player.

DB I take all your points and I'm not suggesting that Norway's move suggests a crash is more likely but I do think O&G investment will contract in the event of another recession. Just feels like the inertia here will carry us into uncertain times, I'm sure we'd all rather see this wrapped up before the inevitable happens. You don't think that if we're trying to negotiate a GSA, FID and LE in the teeth of a global economic crisis it might make things a little awkward - 10 out of 10 for positive thinking!

.... that Norway's sovereign wealth fund is to sell all it's O&G holdings apparently to protect their public finances from any drop in the price of oil. I've been saying for ages that the business cycle could torpedo us yet. Obviously JP can't rush things because of the global climate but I'm frustrated that on earlier timescales this should have been wrapped up long ago. Yes I don't mind admitting I'm getting nervous now - cue 'grow a pair', 'shouldn't be invested in O&G etc....

Lucky, might that indicate that an asset sale is also much less likely? If so that would be a big positive as I think the vast majority here favour a full company sale.

Appears to me to be a classic SOU RNS, could be virtually pointless or could be massive. The hint is negotiations have shifted to include 'all gas' (nudge nudge, wink wink) and that we're on our way before TE-11. Shouldn't really be space to read between the lines of a RNS but this is SOU and twas ever thus.

Thanks Crude sadly I'll be working but I pledge that if 'the big one' is announced I'll board a train at the first opportunity as I'm sure the party will continue beyond Balls Brothers. I have a feeling though I won't break my duck until the final event (assuming it's a happy one). I'll take it in good faith that I don't fit every one of the 'types' on your list, at least not all at the same time!

Ha ha well if it turns out you're right and JP does use the event to promote a new venture I think I'll be taking a vow of silence! I'm still going with nothing new on the day but I'll be on high alert to see if any hints about asset sales, managed expectations, LE light, 12-18 months etc start filtering through on here.

Wonder if we can keep this up for another week? Seems to me it is being held on the 14th precisely because there will be no new operational news, so nothing to get in a frenzy about. GSA as ever remains a possibility but I don't think good or bad they would want it dominating proceedings. News of an offer simply wouldn't be dealt with in this way, a conference call would be much more appropriate, not an 'informal' investor event with only a fraction of the shareholder base able to attend. It's looking like no news for certain but I'm sure everyone will have a great time and there will certainly to be snippets to be gleaned.

A buyer of shares describing them to potential sellers as 'golden tickets' - that's a new one! Okay let's test this out - I'll sell my holding at a smidgen over the PB equity raise so how does 0.47 sound?

That's a very generous gesture SG - at least with this brief respite then blowing the entertainment budget won't have been entirely in vain.
