Oxb is just one of the pharma that has taken a nosedive recently. Was always volatile but agree this is taking the biscuit. Unless Oxb get a contract in some form there will be no news and definitely no comment on the price drop. Just when the COVID news is looking a little brighter Putin puts his penny in. Sure it’s only money. :-(

The perfect storm…maybe a good time to derisk? Hovering over the sell button on some of my larger holdings but having taken years to get them into an isa finding it difficult to sell some. Decisions ,decisions.

General market sentiment seems to be in the doldrums, especially America, which the Ftse seems to mirror. It’s just how long it lasts ? Didn’t ever think I would be selling Oxb sub £10.00. Have some banks which I am happy to hold but we could be in for a rough month or two…Went out for lunch and half expected Oxb to have risen after my sale :-)

Just sold a few this morning. Hangover fingers! A profit is a profit. The stock market doesn’t look like it is going to reverse its fortunes anytime soon…gl all

The drop seems to be widespread across pharma and technologies too name but two. I am invested in various funds covering almost everything in Europe and America and they have been decimated since the beginning of the year.
It’s just how long this drop is going to continue for? The vodka helps but not great on cornflakes.

It has been hard to call bottom but hopefully there now so could be a good purchase. Keep well.

Still in the land of the living and lying low for the foreseeable. I think we are all wondering why the drop ! In a moment of weakness I was contemplating selling a few more. Not sure what is going to drive this back to previous highs and don’t want to lock money away for years again. If I do sell some you can be sure that it will shoot up again.
Hopefully found bottom or close to it…

Hi monkster. Pfizer with their original 75 years was a bit ambitious and perhaps did look unnecessarily suspicious. At least it will be sorted one way or the other towards the end of the year! Hopefully no shocks in store

1% does seem excessive for a 4% return. Have some L&g tech and pharm in my isa wrapper. Dwarfing 4%…..

I can only imagine that the recent drop maybe due to worry about future profits. Oxb do have several revenue streams with the vaccine manufacture being at the forefront. Perhaps concern over how long the vaccine revenue will last? Something is concerning the market..

1724hr post should have been Jan 20…a shareholder here needs a JK Rowling imagination and blind faith, not to mention unlimited patience… years and years ;-(

Hi Kern, I was thinking the same. I have no doubt that this will rise again as there has been absolutely no reason for the recent drop. Profits should be up again due to the vaccine manufacture. It seems to be automated trades that are dropping the sp and will sit on my hands in the meantime. No sleepless nights :-)

This was £4.13 on the 6th of Jan 22 and higher prior to this. Forgetting the drop and subsequent rise due to the pandemic Aviva has not performed very well or am I missing something?

I perhaps did not put my ramblings across very succinctly earlier. Aviva is sitting on billions from the sale of various businesses to only decide on a £750 million share buy back , followed by an afterthought of another £250 million. Their last buyback in the £5’s was a real success.
My issue is the dithering and complete lack of clarity going forward. This is going to be a one-off return to shareholders and the bod will have to convince the market that they can grow this much smaller company in a much smaller market!

If good news drops the sp let’s hope there is no bad news on the horizon…

I’m not so sure the markets are that impressed with Aviva at the moment. Seems to be a lack of direction especially concerning the return of monies to shareholders in whatever form that will take. Next had good Xmas results and declared a further special dividend of 160p per share to be paid at the end of January 2022. Now that is decisive !
We got a token further £250 million buy back to enhance someone’s Xmas bonus I presume but the bod seem to be dithering about the other 4 billion cash pile. Make a decision and let the market decide if they like it or not.
