Quady, can you at least see why this COULD be seen as a strategic move by NM to 1) poke BHP into action and 2) add another potentially interested party which may drive up the price of any sale (in the event of a bidding war).

One of those days today.

Haven't had a moan on here for a while but my PF has taken a battering over the last few days (Avacta & this being the two main culprits), so apologies in advance.

Like swest I thought we were done with the sub-15p days and cannot for the life of me work out why we are back down here. When we were down at 13.5p today I seriously considered selling up and washing my hands of the stock. But that would have been very silly after 3 years or so of holding through far tougher times than this.

Once the US elections are sorted out there will undoubtedly be a huge economic stimulus package that will involve printing silly abouts of fiat currency. This will happen across the world. Interest rates will remain rock bottom and so Gold will continue to rise. If we are on target for an MRE in Q1 2021 we may well - for once in this company's life - see our stars align and gold be pushing higher highs as we publish our results. And the results are going to be good.

Anything sub-15p is a stonking buy with considerable upside in the short, medium and long term.

DYOR, keep the faith. We will be closer to 40p than 10p by the end of Q1 2021.

Admittedly this is nothing but speculation, but this Alpaca Committee may as well be called the JV / asset sale committee as far as I am concerned. It to a certain separates Alpala from the rest of the company and assets.

Regarding the CFO, he has also left IRR by mutual consent. Implying an issue with him rather than the companies he was involved with.

Get a grip would be my first comment. Things don't go up in a straight line. Miners are being hammered every other day due to macro issues totally outside of our control. There is plenty of good news on the horizon, and the possibiliy of a takeover. This is one of the strongest plays out there at the moment - you just need to have a little patience.

Have to say I do agree with this in part. White working class folk who are not well off or given a leg up in life do not seem to be responding well to the movement at all. And as Roger points out, this runs the risk of them being pushed further to the right, and resenting black folk who may be perceived to get preferential treatment. This in turn makes society more racist, not less.

Hi Quady, hope all is well. I think that joining a BLM march to highlight racism in society is one thing, but BLM as an organisation have ambitions that go far beyond simply addressing racism. They recently registered in the UK to become a political organisation, and seek to defund the police amongst other goals that are perfectly legitimate to disagree with. I would not characterise them as a 'fascist' organisation as Schmiel has, though.

Catching up on some of the posts here from today and the weekend - I appreciate that the lockdown news is far from ideal, and the US is at a pivotal point (and society is very polarised) but some of the comments in the last 24 hours have been grim. Take some time away from the screens, chaps. Arguing with anonymous folks on the internet does you and your mental health absolutely no good.

He's either referring to the infamous wadnob who punts both stocks or he is simply trying to drum up interest for FFWD (a dog of a share which I took a healthy loss on, so forgive my bias).

Interesting for weeks ahead for the LTHs here. We have been massively undervalued for some time the price movement this week indicates the tide may well be turning. Leaving the lihtium and Chad aside, our execs think we are sitting on 5moz at Zaranou which would result in an MCAP closer to the SOLGs and CGPs of the world than where we are now.

A great entry point for anyone waiting on the sidelines.

easyp - the company is due a boatload of potentially transformative news over the next two months, bid or no bid.

PFS, Provenir, maybe La Hueca - all of these are serious catalysts for the SP. Most of the speculation about a takeover is from excitable retail investors who want their long awaited payday.

I would love this to be taken out at a quid or whatever before the year end, but personally don't see it happening. There is enough good news on the horizon to keep people interested and the SP north of where is it today.

FatherTed - I am not a manipulator at all. I hold stock at an average of 25p, have watched this share since it was a penny stock and have a holding in its distant cousin IRR.

I am entitled to my own opinions and don't care for your spurious and inaccurate accusations.

On the whole this RNS is good news. The company is confident of striking gold at Porvenir, demonstrated by the fact they're planning on getting 6 rigs set up there. What doesn't sit well with me is the drop today. One of the key takeaways from this RNS was the termination of PDH-20-001 on the periphary of the project - had this (largely irrelevant) finding been leaked somehow?

We also still don't know whether NM is ramping up drilling across the board to find another Tier 1 to assuage investor concerns if BHP confound everyone and jump ship on October 15th. Or whether he wants to add more value to the company to stop us being taken over for cheap (assumedly by BHP).

I expect us to recover slightly this PM and do at least 5% tomorrow.

How this share performs next week will be very very interesting to watch. As we push onto 45p - 50p we may start to see some LTHs derisk and sell chunks of their holding before BHP's lock in expires and the real games begin.

Personally, I am still very sceptical that BHP will try and take out SOLG. We have no idea of its intentions and its strategy. A part of me wonders whether the recent RNS about drilling commencing at the regionals may have been a way for NM to reassure investors of good news ahead if - for whatever inexplicable reason - BHP decides to offload its stake in the company. I realise that this is an unpopular point of view and was rubbished when I shared it on here the other day, but like I say above, none of us really know for sure what its intentions are.

One way or another we have a transformative few weeks ahead. Good luck to all of the characters who provide almost constant entertainment!

I hope you are right zoros but in reality none of us have any idea what BHP will do, or what their current strategy is in light of Covid-19. SP might well be in excess of 45p by then anyway :)

This is a great share to be in at the moment and we may well be approaching the end game.

What almost everyone on here agrees upon is that BHP and the other majors will all want a slice, or bigger slice, of the SOLG pie. But what if we have read this totally wrong.

What if BHP on October 15th decides to sell its stake in SOLG once its lock in period expires? What effect would that have on our share price? What would that signal to the market? What if BHP can't be bothered with the shenanigans and game playing that have already been played, and will inevitably be played IF majors start trying to take us out.

The above scenario is not beyond the realms of possibility. I am constantly trying to assess risk and think of downsides to my investments and today this is a future that I have considered for the first time.
