LTHs will be familiar with this, but I found this article on mining in Chad particularly interesting. At present, the only mineral to be mined and exported out of Chad is sodium carbonate, though a 2010 geologic survey by the Government showed that the country may contain deposits of gold, silver and diamonds amongst various other less-precious minerals. Following this, the government is reviewing mining legislation in the country, presumably with the intention of making the place competitive for mining exploration companies such as our own. So what does this mean for IronRidge? Well, as one of the first players on the scene, should Dorothe and our other prospective licenses live up to their expectations and we are indeed sitting on top of several MOz of gold, the company has the potential to establish itself as a household name within the country. Aside from the obvious commercial benefits, through working closely with the government, the opportunities that a mine or mines of this size present to the local people and communities should not be understated. This is assuming that IRR decides to take the mine into production, which I believe it may well do. If you take a look at what NM has done with Sol Gold in Ecuador, it's clear that he is keen to run a professional, corporate outfit that isn't simply in Ecuador to make a quick buck and sod off. The impetus they place on working with local communities isn't something as an investor I simply overlook - it implies a level of seriousness and professionalism that I see as a huge bonus. They are there for the long term and are already fostering an image of a socially responsible company that will benefit the whole nation. This all may seem a bit airy-fairy and a step away from the commercial aspects and hard figures, but for me this signals that the leadership of these future giants are keen to do this properly from the very beginning. On the move back up. I made the decision before that rise today to invest in SOLG rather than bring my average down here, on the logic that SOLG is expecting a MRE at Alpala over the next two weeks or so. I was then planning on selling up (based on either good/bad MRE news) and buying in here. SOLG is almost as much of a bargain at 25.5p as IRR is at these levels! I was quoted 27.2p earlier to buy here - which is what was paid by whoever bought those 14k shares earlier.

Dalestar - we have cash in the bank. There is no need for a placing any time soon - and the money that we have raised recently has come from our institutional investors who have had enough faith in the company to pay a premium (35p). We are a long, long way off from production, proving up our current game changing prospects will be key and will undoubtedly add huge value to the company (providing there is gold/lithium in the ground!).

Interesting. Perhaps it was a mistake on NM's part - Stuart Crow our non-exec director (who recently sold his stake in the company) is Chariman of Lake Resources ($LKE) that has a substantial lithium portfolio in Argentina. Could be that wires got crossed!

This RNS is fantastic. The grades are superb. Investing at these prices is a no brainer.

Should have some more funds available to top up over the next month. Will be happy to grab a bargain at these prices.

IMO it is clear from the recent sample results taken from Dorothe and Echbara that Dorothe (as previously expected and stated by VM) is the big one here. By this point, the company has hopefully established the field programmes that will be started either this or next month now that the wet season is over. These programmes will consist of infill trenching to establish the extension of the high grades we've seen coming through so far. Following this, the company will start drilling and we will hopefully have a JORC compliant maiden resource estimate. Does anyone have any idea just how long these processes will take? Will we be looking at end of March/April before we know just how much gold Dorothe's hiding? As people have been mentioning on Twitter, we might be looking at trading between the 30-35p mark for a while unless news from elsewhere (i.e. lithium updates) drives our SP higher. Any insight much appreciated.

@saintpeter - IMO it seems that Africa, namely Chad, Ghana and the Ivory Coast are the main points of focus at this point. IronRidge signage at recent events (and even the order in which they're listed under the "Projects" heading on their website) implies that these countries are the focus. From a commercial perspective, it makes complete sense. Chad is rumoured to be country/company changing and there is a global "arms race" for the world's lithium supply given the booming rise of EV.

Morning all Can anyone confirm whether the 65,000 and 100,000 trades this morning (8.39am and 8.43am) were buys or sells? Showing as sells but not entirely clear, and the fact we're slightly up today on just 903 shares being bought seems odd. Cheers - and great post Toro.

I wonder how low it is being dropped? PIs would be mental to sell this at a loss at this level. Would be interested to hear from Laksmi & bonker to see if they've kept their skin in the game despite a drop

Grabbed another handful @ 35.50. Price drop and lack of bounce on RNS makes zero sense to me. All I know is that my money is safe here well into Q1 2018 and won't be going anywhere soon.

To those who got in / added sub-37 today. Two "1" trades this afternoon, would be nice to see us testing 39p before close. This will fly if good news lands!

Games being played with this one again it seems... Price dropped back from 38.50 to 37.01 on a trade worth £65 quid. Yeah right...
