What seems clear is the last few trading days have created so much muddy water that no PI has any chance of knowing what on heavens is happening.
So trying to interpret all these notices is beyond most souls on here including me. We can only consider the company value and stay focussed on why we bought in the first place and wait it out.
This whole system is so rigged against the PI it stinks.
My shares are staying where they are until all this mud clears up and we can see better what the situation is. I am not giving them my shares on the cheap. ATB

Either someone is exiting at 160 or there is news coming and MM's are accumulating by taking stops out. Just musings as I know nothing more than any other punter. ATB.

Mirasol, thanks - hope not. I think from the govt's point of view its now more a case of optics than the reality of raising cash that is meaningfully going to make a difference to the cost of living issue. But i don't know how this will play out in terms of conditions attached.

Ok, you got me there....I bought because i think its cheap - yes, guilty. I don't particularly like buying at the top of the cycle. I am a PI - buy low, sell high is how its meant to work for the small guys.

I assume you have a short open and are very confident in your position. Good for you and let's see what happens.

Incidentally, don't always assume Blackrock know what they are doing. I hold THG and am up handsomely there and was witness to Blackrock increasing their short the day before the price shot up - they promptly closed the short. So they can get it spectacularly wrong too - ruthless or otherwise.

Thanks. Much better way to debate. The negatives you outline are there but so is the potential growth from sales. Luxury brands tend not to be as broken by inflationary pressure. Personally feel the sis way oversold to have taken a position again. Let's see how this pans out.

Sorry, I disagree - Twitter is the wrong analogy. THG has been beaten down to way below the value of its parts. There are multiple bidders here and THG management have not said they are closed to offers.
Twitter had one erratic buyer....all be it a very very rich one and one with a brilliant track record. ATB and my post was just my own musings.

Cricky, unless you need the cash right away, why on earth would anyone sell now - 170 has been confirmed as the absolute floor - so selling now is a bit like giving money away.

I'm with the core of people who consider that MM is orchestrating this and IM and MM have IMO done this to flush out offers higher than 170. GLA

Property mogul Nick Candy is considering a bid for struggling online retailer THG, which said on Thursday night that it has rejected a £2bn offer from a separate group of investors.

Shares in THG had earlier closed at 116p, down more than 80pc since last September after Matt Moulding's company failed to reassure City investors over the value of its IT platform Ingenuity.

In an update to investors after the stock market closed, THG confirmed it received a "third unsolicited” bid at 170p a share from Belerion Capital and King Street Capital to acquire the company.

This company makes me worried. They off loaded about 50% of their stake at 195 if memory serves me right and accelerated the decline. I wonder if starting at 170 is something related to that price.

Pleasantly surprised to see BOO in the green today when most other retailers are red. I suspect further short reductions will be duly announced in the next 4 hours. ATB folk.

Stocks in the US were pumped way higher and are correcting as per expected. The same foes not hold for UK stock. Minor correction maybe but no rout here is my view.
