HH, I don't feel our positions are that different. I would like MM to run a listed company with the due diligence expected. The Chair is meant to ensure this is done but the proof is not yet on the table. I hope this does turn around. ATB and good night folk, i'm clocking off for the night. Tomorrow looks like a day to stay offline but i doubt I will as it is the hope that keeps us alive!

You say that but the fact is Softbank and other similar investors bankrolled and paid the price for this apparent success. I don't particularly feel sorry for SoftBank et al and I am a relatively recent entrant and have averaged down reasonably so will not make a loss here (I hope). However there is a fair amount of rose tinted folk who are not being as objective as they should be. Partly I suspect because MM is a decent man and is doing a lot of good. Plus he uses social media rather well to keep up the us vs the nasty city types vibe.
To say the company is not the share price is an argument often used by the faithful, but usually when doing poorly. At 800p per share, would you say the same?

HH, maybe and I am not that far down that I can't hold and wait, which I intend to. Let's see. MM is responsible to his share holders, something he took on when he went public. It does not seem to suit his style but wither he should play by the rules or take it private and then run the company as he wishes. Currently seems to want to have his cake and to eat it. This is the bit i find disappointing.

Italian, yes, saw that. Doesn't bode well. Initially the US indices seemed to be improving but have dived again. Not sure why as a rate hike was expected and the rest of the chatter was reassuring about possibly having peaked. Maybe we should brace ourselves for a rough ride tomorrow. Unless China pulls something good out of the hat in the morning to lift spirits. ATB

I'd like to be as lucky, but perhaps that should not be the yardstick to judge a businessman by. Try the numbers? or maybe a canary does not feel able? ATB, i am a holder and hoping this share will turn around. However to be some sort of cult happy clapper is not the way to invest. IMO of course.

I do agree. MM comes across as a decent man who is philanthropic. That however does not make him an astute businessman. He appears to have got lucky that Softbank has paid the price for his failing so far. Let's hope he does turn it around for all our sakes.
Judge a man by his results not words. The value of the business he runs is a fraction of where it was. Can change though, so let's wait and see. Atb

Bizarre but BoD seem strangely on the side of share holders on this one while CA are prepared to cut and run. Discombobulated I am. Let's hope a bidding involving multiple parties forces the SP upto at least 14-15.

Yup, agree. I will not be too perturbed. At those levels of shorting, I will be happy to load up. It will have been different if BOO had a lot of debt. Without any meaningful debt, IMO, shorting up to 13-15% is crazy.

Err....I don't think so. GAM essentially have subsidised the others who have reduced their short exposure. GAM are the people holding the parcel when the music stops. Not a good thing BTW.

Did they really just open an enormous short at the near bottom? And it appears this is their only short position. Seems to be what a gambler at the races may do. Bet the house on a horse because they heard whispers from someone they think is in the know....probably Paddy down the drinking hole...

Press will move on to bash something or someone else, usually successful at what they are doing. Labour and our MSM are tragically jealous.
Anyway, I was planning to sell half my holding at 25 but think I'm hanging on now for at least another 12 m to see where we are. I can't see the energy crisis ending even if the war ends. These imo have a lot higher to go. Buybacks are a great insurance against any significant pullback in SP. Atb folk and remember this is just my opinion and not advice.
