If you're talking about me Spights, I first bought BP after the GoM disaster when the SP fell to about 305.i think my buy was at 320 or so. As always, I jump in a bit too soon.
Went in much heavier in 2020 after the pandemic drops. Bought too early again at 330 but kept adding including at 190. Ave price for me is 225. I've been posting regularly for the last 2 years on the ups and downs.

Chid, reasonable theory - equally it could just be trading or a drop in OP and gas prices. The buyback programme means there is a reasonably predictable sell and buy happening. If you repeat this often, one may be able to play this to ones advantage. A change of 15-17p is hardly a sell off is it? We have seen these minor re-traces before. I accept your theory has some logic but feel maybe you are reading too much into this. Let's see in a week or two and then maybe we will know the extent of the WFT. BP paid out this time but given the offset options that Shel took advantage of, i would be surprised if WFT had as major an influence as you suggest. IMO etc.

Big dividend returns will be after 2024 or so after this downtown has passed. This is not a share for traders but an excellent long term hold, imo

Prefer a steady rise to spikes as these encourage traders. Edging towards break even personally which will be a relief. Better coms and clarity of governance issues plus a move to main market update would be good to have. ATB

I feel that ship passed 2 years ago. ExxonMobil are probably regretting not buying BP when the chance was there. They will need to pay over the odds now as not sure BP board will want to sell. Imo

Most people seem to be forgetting the fact while buybacks are ongoing, support for SP is reasonably assured. Nothing PIs do will match the buying power of BP itself. The more they buy and cancel, the less liklihood of a pull back. I'm staying put. Imo only of course.

It's fab to have held £5 into close. For me the reduction in debt has been the key for holding on for a much higher exit point. BP is in an amazing position. Even when Brent falls eventually, the tightening of financial management throughout the pandemic, has set a fantastic base. Atb folk. Enjoy the weekend.

Too many selling at 5 - have some pity on the likes of me that would quite like to see 5.50!!

Might this be because they are unable to provide incentives to officials? Just speculation but in many countries, that is often the only way to oil such deals. When in Rome, playing by London rules, will not work imo.
Anyway, I'm still holding on despite all the ups and downs. Let's see where things are in 10 years. Maybe the name will change from petro to greenfac by then!!
