Gazzleberry, I concur with most of your observations especially the fate of manufacturing ! I am over 73, still working in a small business that I started in 1977, ate steel dust for a living , employed various people over that 45 years, paid wages, paid 4 weeks holiday pay , accounted for N.I. ,P.A.Y.E.,& V.A.T. Only took one weeks holiday myself ( at X mas ) and took and still do , responsibility for my employees wellfare . A section of commentators on here think that the world owes them a living ! Ive ate them and am still capeable of doing so again ! Peace my friend
Just got involved here , Price affected by Tesco but Hey Christmas is coming , Looking for £ 2.00 ++ by December !
Prime for a take over bid at 0.3785 pence per share, based on the rejected take over of two years ago of £1.05. Before everyone jumps on my back,I totally understand different times , different days, but the opportunities of time reward all, providing you have the cash !!!!! Crazy times
Park Gate, Kidderminster Road, For three succesive weeks Pedigree taps are dry !!! A n alien concoction called Wainwrights
is available, How can Marstons premium ale be unavailable in a Marstons house for at least three weeks ? The garbage that
is proffered by the company totally explains the collapse in the share price, as the effort put in by the B.O.D. is boardering upon incompetance - Bathams for me in future !!!!!
Gentlemen, ( and Ladies ) all this anxt over one quarters results when anyone with an engineering experience will tell you that expectation comes before desperation !!! As I have stated previously , a pelethera of orders 'aint cash in the bank and although undoubtedly there are progress payments in place, the initial expenditure usually exceeds such! Talk of £0.30 per share is quite frankly idiotic as most well know. Time is the prime factor, this company is world class make no mistake about that, just regard the engines that they produce - would one be happy flying with an engine made by Fred Bloggs and Co, ??? There will be ups and downs and we are all here to make money but patience young man, patience. Good Luck all.
What a stunner, up to 0.932 ish, back down to 0.924 ish , Aug 4th on the horizon and the great and the good are not backing the lorry up! Perhaps tomorrow ? Perhaps Next week ? Perhaps next year ? Perhaps sometime ? Dreams , dreams, dreams !!
Oh ! DarkArches , I am cut to the quick to be associated with another poster !! If you can read , the gist of my post was related to how cheap Pedigree was in Morrisons, in no way promoting the shares in Marsdens !! There again perhaps you are dislectic or short sighted. Never mind aye !!
Gentlemen, Seen in most Morrisons Supermarkets , bottled Pedigree at £0.99 AN ADSOLUTE BARGAIN , considering that it is a premium ale at 4.50 o/o. Fill your boots !!! On the corporate side, although it may aid cashflow it does very little for the bottom line , or indeed the price in the pubs which is circa £3.50 northwards.
To all the optomists in RR, Orders on the books aint cash in the bank!!!!! consequently all the excitement vis a vie 93p /94p/95p is quite frankly - pathetic . Yes eventually the corner will be turned and in two or so years the share price may well reach £ 2.00 or so , but a lot of water must go under the bridge before that point is attained . Like Red Inky I am also underwater but I dont wet myself when the share price goes up a penny !!!!!
Welcome back Mike 1234567, Your opinions on RR.are at least as valid as those of your foul mouthed detractors , you maintain a positive attitude whether it is win , loose, or draw! Yes RR. should show a serious improvement at the next results round because as a supplier to the Heavy Engineering sector, the place that I work for is doing extreemly well also.
Mike, keep smiling Sir, because as you know when RR. share price hits £1.00 plus, everyone will say " I told you so "
Invest at your peril !!!! Last evening at 4.35 i placed an order with H.S.B.C. FOR 5000 b.p. shares at 3.738, almost immediately a message was returned saying request to decline. This morning their website has problems and is temporarily unavailable, the process so far has " cost me " £650 , H.S.B.C. ? lOAD OF SH**T. Ineed a decent broker
What a ridiculous state of affairs, Interest rates go up by 1/4 % and one of the largest corporations in the world , who by the way are banking oodles of cash , falls by nearly 10%. Where as high street stores etc are bumping along on an even rating! God help BP. If the oil price was not as high , 35,000,000 million vehicles in the U.K. nearly all run on petrol or diesel , not counting any international exposure. Yes, the market is correct - bum of a share. Buy, buy, buy !
Over the past two years I have bought and sold ITV and am in front on dealings, re - bought at 1.11 and subsequently averaged down at 0 .73 , Giving an overall average of £1.22 . I tend to agree with Tom , on the basis that the share price is dismal although dividends are fair ! The board seem to be doing a reasonable job , irrespective of anyones oppinion of the " Dame", yet it is inescapeable that the share price is dismal. What can the B.0.D. do to redress this ???? Tom you know that the B.O.D. can only work in the enviroment that they play in !!! The rest id determed by the market ! Buy and hold , take divis - look again in three months and enjoy life, QED
The forward potential of RR. is enormous , the current share price reflects the position as of today , any investment is a gamble, if investing on fundamentals, data, or potential, all can change in the blink of an eye! As long as we are all alive tomorrow and the day after etc, a world class engineering company should perform to its potential therein all else falls in to place!!! I would expect RR. to be at least £ 1.50 by early 2023, and have supported the share price accordingly, QED
Windfall tax, windfall tax, windfall tax, this is all Labour seem to cite to the great unwashed, beneficiently ignoring the " take" that the government already levy upon oil companies in particular! BP. and Shell react to market conditions and set the pump price accordingly, ( having already paid for the commodity in the futures market ), where as the government will continue to take taxes what ever the price. This morning , Ed Milliband cited the same mantra, hoping that the emotions of the great British public would be on the side of Labour, yet the shareholders , who have seen the dividend cut, and the share price go south and who provide the where with all for the companies to exist, are totally ignored. Where is Oliver Cromwell when you need him ???
Yesterday bought 8 bottles of Pedigree from Morrisons for £5.94 ( four for the price of three ), equates to £ 0.7425 per bottle. Considering that Pedigree is a premium brew , I am concerned that such giveaways like this are symptomatic of the problems that all breweries are facing , The next six months will decide, but in the meantime " Viva La Pedigree " P.S. Where are you Trent ?
I travel the Midlands on a regular basis , Ive noticed that a lot of Marstons houses that do the " cheapie" two for one are absolutely rammed between 6 o clock to 7 45 ish , good news for footfall, especially when the more discerning hostelries seem very deserted ( No pun intended ). Viva La Pedigree !!!!!
