Apologies for the late reply concerning 5G on my phone, being investigated at the moment but in general the internet is very poor in my area nevertheless common courtesy dictates this response so thank you for the tip! I tend to dip in and out of Glen when the price dictates, I am out at the moment but undoubtedly will be back, good luck to all invested here.

In my area the internet was down from Thursday afternoon until just 3.30 today, I deal through a bank which is miles away and I wanted to take advantage of the present Glen price for a small gain - frustrating or what ? Luckily the internet came back on in time but it is a salutary lesson for all of us that relying on techknowlegy too much can present its own problems, especially when the SP mooves quickly !

Arthur Dent, Edinburgh is an expensive place to live anyway but£5.00 a pint is not good for anyone!! Are there any brewers locally ? or is it transported ? As a Midlands drinker myself I find that there is a reasonable footfall locally but not yet massive demand but as people slowly adjust then July & August should be encouraging. Still looking at £i. 10 ish within 3 months but I agree that this may be the tops for the year - Lot of catching - up to do!!!

Stockready 1 Agree with your position, once bought hold until target reached ,then sell or not depending on the position in the economy. 777jIMSTER, The comment you are refering to was bottled bilge, perhaps too strong a comment, but to my pallette there is a pronounced difference twixt bottled and cask ales. Perhaps everyone else does not percieve such especially since most casks now are Aluminium ( HaHa ) but the Ale certainly seems to mature in a state of volume rather than in a pressure sealed bottle.

One last gripe from me before I retire for my afternoon nap, I pretend that I am a publican who has had a rough time over the last trading year, I have made losses that have destoyed my bottom line what can I do to redress the balance ? I know I"ll put up my prices to my customers , who by the way, have also had a rough time of it, that should solve the problem what a clever business man I am. Wait a moment why are all my customers going to the opposition, who by the way has also had a rough time of it, but is sensible to know that losses in this case are recouped gently and gradually and footfall is the answer.
The area where I live is covered by many great real ales of renoun such as Bathams, Enville,Pardoes et-al and a reasonable price should be around £ 3.05 - £ 3.10 locally, Mars could possibly touch £3.20 because of distribution costs etc, but they should all bear in mind that Supermarket bottled bilge is anything from £ 1.25 to £2.00. Off to bed now Im feeling feint!!!

Had lunch today at a Mars eatery, food was fine, well presented and the young staff very tolerant of an old fart. I must confess that the final bill was probably a little on the heavy side compared to pre - covid prices which I suppose was to be expected but my concern is that you can easily kill the goose that lays the golden egg , especially when your customers are on a fixed income. In my opinion £ 3.55 for a pint of Banks s Amber Bitter is extortionate, especially when there was no other bitter on offer and Pedigree seems to have gone walkabout.

Decisions, Decisions what to buy but as the bard says " Be greedy when others are fearful " Airline stocks are cheap nobody wants them, will we be saying the same in 4/6 months time ?? Isnt it funny how 3 decent weather days encourages everyone with Mars shares to be optarmistic re the share price !!! Summer was going to come sooner or later, yet a word of caution, tills may be ringing but we have a long way to go to recoup losses and pay off some debts. Forecast - £1.10 by July/August.

Well we are up & trading, sales as good as can be expected ( notice , no committment ) and the Brains "investment " will begin to be included ! Have an exposure here of 5000 shares @ 0.956 and will be looking for any retraces to average down. As previously stated am looking for around 1.10 within 3 months considering all the sporting events to come ! Sorry but I have no comment on RR, ENOUGH SAID.

777Jimster, some excellent points shading to the negative on most but true none the less, as an alternative point of view I would suggest the following, 1) Pubs now open and trading and it is down to the competance of the landlord/tennant/manager to grow the business in conjunction with Marstons. 2) In house entertainment in the form of the Euros, Test matches, Wimbledon, etc will attract a solid audience. What is to stop local pubs having more live entertainment as well ? 3) Price structure has increased and as long as it does not overprice itself and keeps at a reasonable level then people will use the facilities. 4) Food is generally acceptable and again reasonably priced which attracts families 5)Accomodation will play an increasingly larger part in the fortunes of Marstons and as yet is a partly unknown yet a positive
My perception is that Marsto ns will be around £1.10 by October given a reasonably decent summer which if correct gives a return on the prescent price of 22o/o not withstanding any dividends ( which I do not expect! For me a BUY FOR THE SHORT TO MEDIUM TERM.

Anyone got any thoughts on Glen as the spot price of copper has come right off the top to about 8500 p/t, although Glen is not a one horse trick, it has benefitted from coppers rise previously, and goes some way to explain the share price drop recently.
I feel that the debt is still a factor that puts a dampner on such and will be surprised if we have not already reached the zenith!!( I mean for the next 3 months or so.) Perhaps the future will surprise me?

what did everyone expect a massive profit ???? Get real, we turned down a take-over offer of £1.05 only a few months ago so obviously the BOD thought that this was a derisary sum and that they would comfortably raise the share price well above that - given time. All the sporting events due to come this summer are on course, all pubs should be open, we are supported by Carlsburg and have a lovely tax efficient half-year to go forward with. Come back in October time and if I am wrong I will
appologise but the share price at £0.91 is a steal !!!!!

Information via an employee at Gatwick, They have been told that the Airport expects to be operational from the second week in August to the tune of 80 per cent capacity! If correct then June and July are waiting months for RR. Two months is a long time when you are anxious but only a heartbeat in the real world!! RR. at about £1.02 is a good bet providing they can control their cash - flow. Comments invited.

and looking northward. In the past I admit that I have been somewhat sceptical especially considering the amount of debt that the company has incurred but I suppose that debt starts to dissolve the higher the copper price climbs! Anyway today is your day - enjoy!
