Not particually pertinent to Glencore but definately part of the materials " Super Cycle " Steel flat products have increased in price from £ 480.00/tonne- £570.00/tonne to £1000.00/tonne in the last two months. As Glencore trades in Iron Ore this is a positive price moovement for them but a disasterous one for anybody working to a budget. Nearly everything is associated or connected with steel!!!!
Was starting to get worried about you Billy, you had gone very quiet but all is well now you ve had a little moan about buybacks. Glen slowly showing some promise! steady as she goes Ay?
Looks like I will be able to attain that elousive £2.95 as America is supposidly worried about inflation - are you kidding me? They are re-financing to the tune of TRILLIONS of dollars - no there will not be any inflation YOU CRETINS!!!!!!!!!
Tryed to get back in on Thursday but work overtook me, then same problem Friday missed the £2.95 anxd all over monday but finally bought at £3.0057 totally annoyed but Hey Ho! Convinced will be £ 3.50 plus by Aug/Sept.
Billy - Again you do a wonderful job in carrying the flag for Glencore and on the subject of Share Price I totally concur with you, we are seeing a slow burn on all sectors of the " Old Economy " as the real world gets back to business. As I have stated in previous posts , 3 months is a long time in shares and I feel that lets get to results time and then re - assess! £3.50 is definatley on the cards, and then who knows?? - Message to Joker, We all have doubts after the event but what have you got to loose ?? If its not right in 3 months then sell you may loose £ 100 ish.
Sorry for the late response - just got up. Yes I worked in Foundries initially then in Steelworks and may I say I loved it!! My greatest memory was when a large cupola split its side and 15 tonnes of moulten Iron poured on the factorys floor it was like the Devils Hades, fortunatley no one was injured. Sorry but it does get into your blood!! Anyway, Just got involved again in Glencore, initially got target of £3.50 by Aug/Sept the rest is bunce!
Billy - Thanks for that on trading iron ore, I concur with you obviously on the price of copper etc , The veritas behind my question was to re-inforce the share price position and nothing to do with the dividend. I held Glencore for nearly 3 years with an average of £2.75 and bu**er - all else when it recently hit £ 3.07 I got out but I now feel it is a solid buy! Unfortunatley this board is going to put up with me for future comments- so beware HaHa.
Billy - I work in metals and the price of steel plate has also gone through the roof up over 60 per cent, now this may be due to the Liberty situation but my information is that all of Europe are quoting up to 4 months delivery which is unprecidented. My querie to you is does Glencore mine iron ore and if yes to what exposure? Thanking you in anticipation.
Poker Chips, excellent concise summary of the position of RR. The most Poigniant fact was 6 billion shares at 0.32p, even allowing for the deeply discounted price at the time it was obvious that RR. JUST DID NOT NEED FINANCE IT WAS DESPERATE FOR FINANCE!! The ensuing year has not provided much relief to the bottom line so as a simple calculation must be sell. I sincerly hope that all investors dont loose on any share but life is cruel .
What is all the anxt about? 3 months is a long time in investing!!! Remember £ 1.92??? £2.19 ??? £2.50 ??? We are now at £2.94 with the roads starting to fill and everything made of Plastic. We have briefly touched £3.10 and BP. have confounded the experts by issuing good results but all you impatient gamblers want it NOW!! In July or August we should see the planes flying again with BP. around £3.20 then with a fair wind 3 months later we should see £3.50 or £3.60. The rest is in the lap of the gods but for crying out loude Grow - up!!!!!
Stock market is El crappo at the moment, down, down, down - Government red list is up, up, up, Im going into a darkened room and sulk! Never mind Monday is another day!!!!
Its the debt, Its the dedt, Its the debt, Look at the nett asset value in the accounts! It would be a lot higher if Glen could address this dampener on the share price. Also Plant and Machinery are definatley an asset, but at a second hand price?? in a specialist market. Even allowing for the tremendous rise in copper it is still coal that is the basic mainstay but at poor margins. Glen needs the world back in full production to break out of the £2.60 - £3.10 range Undoubtedly others will disagree but time will tell!!!
The ungerlying fundamentals with RR., OR SO IT APPEARS TO ME is the fact that they were in trouble well prior to the pandemic. They have made large losses over the past 3 trading years, and have not paid a dividend since 2018. Alright, they had a rights issue and negotiated further funding from their bankers. Apparently no salary rises are envisaged for the near future and investment is seriously curtailed!! How can anyone predict a future share price when the fundamentals dictate and dont look good? It isnt that RR. are making profits now, they are eating into their seedcorn!!! I feel that the predictions are a symptom of hope over reality. if you feel that I am wrong then please respond but I am not a troll or a bull****ter so please reply with an adult attitude Thanks.
Just finished a shift motorway driving in the Midlands, the roads are rammed with commercials and cars another few months like today = no worries over BP. share price or Shell or Texaco !!! Buy on dips then when the planes fly. Whooooooosh
Welcome Redinky, I hope that reality does support an alternative point of view and after reading the Accounts yesterday I altered mine, There is no disparagement in reviewing such. Please tell me that I am not a Troll !!! a gentleman might even tell me that I am not Barred. Being a steel trader & Engineer myself I know that by the year end £ 1.50 is still possible maybe depending on Government contracts, RR. is vital to Brexits success. Keep the faith
Billy, Well done, I seriously did not expect such a rise, am still waiting for £2.80 maybe never!! I ALWAYS TOLD YOU TO BE POSITIVE DIDNT I???? May your God go with you.
Redinky, checkout your previous comments of 15.00 Hours. I talk bulls**t and you have filtered me, Oh the inigmony Im going to find a Dark room and cry. Constructive comment is painful isnt it!!!
