Southmead, how are SDX going to produce 80,000 boe/d (net) from a maximum 50% stake in GUPCO (may not even be 50% as we have no real idea on details yet), when GUPCO only produces 70,000 boe/d in total? 43,000 boe/d MAX I would say if this deal goes the way our limited information is pointing too.

Well at least things got exciting here again. Not that they weren't before, but the share price and lack of interest in the company were at rock bottom.

Given BP want cash for other developments why are they willing to loan SDX money? That bit doesn't make sense to me. Perhaps I am missing something and it's more about just releasing these assets rather than getting cash to use elsewhere.

Buying BP assets with a $300m loan from BP which will be paid back with oil from the assets. Presumably there is also a placing in the offing too? Hence the admission document?

This link about AIM admission documents says the following;

"An outline of the contents of an admission document which an applicant must produce if it is seeking admission of its securities to AIM."

It says;

"pending an announcement and publication of an admission document"

They probaby will need SDX gas unless they want to pay upwards of $16/mcf for bottled gas. Maybe this will mean another 0.1-0.3mmcf/d gas demand for SDX? So somewhere in the region of $400,000-$1,200,000 extra revenue per year perhaps at $12/mcf.

I wish I had something else I could sell right now to buy a few more here but I have to try to exercise portfolio discipline. This really does have a great risk/reward profile.

I have never had a problem with the company. I've said many a time, I think they've done a fantastic job.

Ah that is my bad, I've just realised my error. I initially read Southmead's post who said the Edison note said R&M had 7.2%. I read the note and saw 7.2 and didn't look closely enough to see that it was 7.2m and not 7.2%. Everything else I said after that is now obviously incorrect so I can only apologise.

That said, they've bough another 1.8% recently and the share price has fallen.

Daft, do you mean "it SHOULDN'T READ 7.2m"? Because it does read R&M as having 7.2m shares.

Institutions like R&M (I don't know about them personally) typically don't behave like this. This seems to me to have effectively been 'trading'. It might not be trading and there might be another explanation but they certainly didn't notify on two occasions when they should have.

Can someone sanity test my logic please: If they had circa 3.5% in March and 7.2% in July, then they bought shares, went over 5% and should have notified. That's 1 missed filing. Then they have to have been below 5% recently in order to yesterday have crossed above 5%, so since July they have to have sold down going below 5%. That's 2 missed notifications. So they've been buying and selling a lot of shares and not notifying.

I've just thought of something else too. If the SDX website is right and they held 3.42% on the 28th March 2018, then to get to the Edison figure in July they would have had to have bought ~4%, going over 5% to do so, again without notifying.

I think Edison must be wrong but if they aren't something very fishy is going on here.

The July Edison note has them holding 7.2%. So previous to (presumably) the last few weeks they had been selling down from 7.2% since July or perhaps before and went below 5% and DIDN'T notify and have since bought back some of the shares they sold to get back above 5%.

What is going on here? Are these holdings numbers wrong or did they just not notify selling down below 5%. Have they been trading SDX?
