and there was me thinking that most companys paid there directors bonus's normally in shares for hitting rather largeand on the face of it rather impossible performance targets.......silly me
seems to me that LTH are not concerned at all ....its only the anti ocado crowd that go on about no profit court cases no dividend etc etc ....i myself dont care if they never make a "profit" .....i have 2 ocado accounts .....one where i hold shares that cost an approx average of 2.50 and the other where i did a bit of profit taking and now buy and sell on the ups and downs...... as long as ocado keep giving im happy ....and when they stop giving ill sell completely .....its really quite simple
I'm sure David does understand Ocado, it's a pretty simple business model......i do think its you thats being talked about as not understanding ocado lolol
and if ocado hadnt reinvested every penny where would they be now??? a 2nd rate company with very little tech and no overseas clients
seems that the only folk who are worried about ocado not making a profit every year are those derampers who are not invested lol
i also hold shares in neils baby marks and sparks ....shares i would not hold if the JV had not happened .....ocado has had a big part to play in marks ressurection ...something that neil will never like to admit .....without ocado marks would still be in dire straits ...thats not to say marks are not working hard to straighten themselves out.....their recovery would just take a lot longer without ocado
i do wonder how neil knows what everyones initial buy in price was?????....ocado could go bust tomorrow and i would still have made tens of thousands in profit from this share ......ocado just keeps on giving
attractive enough for marks to jump into bed with them AND knowing all the facts lol
same old same old neil .....i suggest you go do more research :)
i would presume contracts would include some kind of full or part exclusivity clauses.... you would think no company would want to share the technology with a rival
the level of ignorance from derampers just keeps on rising
i think most of us know its a question of when not if lol
yes ....thats why i posted and said that it may or may not be relevent now .......i will ask tim when i next get the chance lol
Ocado’s CEO Tim Steiner has said he anticipates that the company’s biggest future competition in online grocery will come from Amazon rather than one of the big four supermarkets.
Speaking at the Retail Week Live conference, Steiner outlined that he envisages 40-60% of the grocery market could in the future transition to the online channel. In this context, he talked about the potential threat from Amazon Fresh if it were to roll out internationally. Steiner said: “Amazon is a phenomenal business with massive resources and incredible technology. If you were to ask who our biggest competitor in online grocery 20 years’ time, will it be Waitrose, Tesco or Amazon, I’d place my money on Amazon.”...............that was from 2014 .....may or may not be relevent now
no ordinary person would buy a new car without going to look at it first and test driving it ....nor would they buy a new house without seeing it first hand so why on earth would a company worth millions/billions sign a contract worth millions/billions without first hand knowledge of what they are buying into?...of course this awful pandemic has stopped overseas contracts being signed
im still in profit despite the drop ....some folk seriously have no idea despite their extensive research....i have every faith in ocado to increase my profits in the coming years
ahh my bad ....tho that still dont excuse your late announcement of bristol opening
""Prior to the Bristol facility opening, Ocado Retail has been delivering c. 374,000 orders per week from Ocado.com. CFCs in Purfleet and Andover (85,000 and 60,000 orders per week,"
someones research seems to be a bit awry
bristol went live on 24th feb so not sure why neil is posting this news on saturday ...and purfleet and andover open??? not as far as i know
and yet if you manage your holding properly its the share that keeps on giving
