Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
Here's an interesting question, if Qualcomm buy Veoneer and Magna pivot and buy SEE... What effect does that have on Veoneer and Qualcomm? Suddenly they have a big hole in their tech stack.
Magna will have won a big strategic hit over them. In which case Qualcomm might fight hard... Anyone else excited?
All eyes are moving to collaborative driving now. This is becoming THE hot sector. Big boys duking it out, it'll only be a matter of time before AMD and Intel work out they need to pivot as well...
Exciting times ahead I think.
Panic about inflation plus I guess, concern that when everything opens up there will be less folks at home partaking in the hobby.
Mostly inflation though, look at the FTSE in general it's taking a kicking.
The wheel obscuring the lights would probably only happen during a constant radius bend any short 'blip' would be adjusted for. Also, I would think that it's possible to get 'lower confidence' readings even if only one of the led clusters has visual. You could at least tell if the eyes are open/closed and roughly which way they are looking even if you lose some depth perception and accuracy.
Rather an edge case I would imagine for any length of time though!
The problem with this test is that the experienced L2 drivers would trust the system but know they are being tested for awareness so will concentrate harder than usual on scanning than they usually would. Inexperienced and no usage groups are probably approximately accurate because they are load limited.
What it does actually show is that with the right incentive, automation can allow cognitive load to be redirected to make things safer.
Ford is based on the chip, a large selling point of the platform is that it's the only way to get to market quickly.
I suspect the point is that if you haven't made a decision by now, there is only one way to get to market fast enough to meet regulations.
I'm holding for sure. We are starting to get some recognition, market cap isn't actually that high and the potential is huge.
Loads of potential upside from here and this is buying from big boys not on hot air. IMO
Essentially, this is an ARM style situation. We provide a design, a basic toolkit if you like, that can be licensed by chip makers. This then gets baked into their chip as per Omnivision here.
Cipia or any other DMS software provider can then use the toolkit but has no access to 'take' our IP or make their software better only utilise the power advantages of the design.
This means that we can be embedded in any chip makers chip and any DMS software designer can get a design win on any of those chips and we get paid a fee.
Absolutely genius in my opinion. It means that we can be driving the entire market and not get a 'monopoly' concern from the OEMs.
ZF S Cam (for external self-driving) uses OmniVision image sensors
Tesla uses it across all their models for their rear facing (external I believe) camera
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OmniVision_Technologies
and that world's smallest camera is TINY!
It's a cracking piece of news and a really good looking implementation. With events this month we should have a nice stream of news to keep the momentum up and hopefully we can bag a few more license deals this year.
Licenses are where it's at it's a real game changer.
Another one of those, 'is that a coincidence?' moments
