The financing is in the form of a build own operate transfer (BOOT) contract with an infrastructure specialist called Oryx. The contract is worth $135m repayable over 9 years and with a 30 month grace period. Interest is 8% at $1100/oz and increases as the gold price increases, to a maximum of 16% if the gold price hits $1700/oz. KEFI will require $32m to complete the financing which could come via a number of structures including working capital facility, project level investment and KEFI equity. KEFI is targeting construction to start in 2017 and first gold production in 2019. Our View: When KEFI took control of Tulu Kapi it had a capex requirement of approaching $300m and a significantly lower reserve grade. KEFI has dramatically reduced the capital requirement, improved the resource model, mining method and consequently the mine plan. Management has also been working on a funding solution for 18 months or so in a challenging funding environment. One of the key considerations is to minimise dilution of existing shareholders and maintain ownership of Tulu Kapi. This funding solution achieves both elements and we expect a positive share price reaction this morning. We have a Speculative Buy recommendation. "

I had something similar with HL, and thought it might be just be what I had originally paid for the MARL shares. I've found that in general the 'cost' figure goes a bit awry after a corporate action, but I wouldn't worry, it's only there as an indication. (I suppose it might be relevant for calculating Capital Gains Tax, if it's correct, but mines an ISA so N/A.)

I don't suppose I'm the only one who's wary of having too much money invested in Turkey-based companies, but it might help that there's no longer any competition from MARL in that respect. Perhaps some of the cash about to be released from the MARL merger will find its way here... Hi nsmith1000. I wasn't planning to sign up to another board just to post on SAND/SSL. The calculation is very simple: M = (S x 0.2573 / P) + 28.75 S is the SAND price in US cents, ~378 as I type. P is the pound-US$ conversion, ~1.2718 as I type. M is the "Virtual MARL" price in pence, ~105.2 as I type. ATB

SAND SP drifting up, even though gold has fallen. Not surprising perhaps - although the arb's don't have to buy back their shorts, at least the downward pressure from continual selling should now have ceased. SAND at US$3.75 means "Virtual MARL" now at 104.5p.

Yes, I saw that too; dated Fri, 23rd Jun 2017 14:57- dealing undertaken: 22 June 2017. Then it disappeared again (but I still have it on my screen). Couldn't understand why they'd suddenly be buying SAND. Maybe it was just submitted mistakenly, then withdrawn?

Just bought a few @ 42.5p. Quite surprised to be able to get that price.

Still holding (~40k shares), and frankly relieved at the vote outcome. But in the short term at least this was a vote for the SP to rise or fall, so not really surprising that most chose the former. Looking forward to continuing to profit from HM, but with the added security of SAND's diversification. Wonder if LSE might hold this BB open for a while at least, for SAND discussion?
